Becky! Tonka Trucks! Glad to be here at long last!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:01pm ultradamno:

Becky! Tonkies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm loveless:

Rattler? Snakes? Hummmm. Hello all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm Becky:

Howdy folks.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:03pm Pauly from Clifton:

Hiya Becky, gang!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:04pm Handy Haversack:

Rolling a rattler, while potentially profitable, is a dangerous enterprise.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:05pm kwatts:

Evenin', friends. I hope you're well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm McGroovey:

For a minute I thought wfmu.org was down, but it turned out my phone was trying to connect to my daughter's school's WiFi. Apparently, the school network thinks WFMU is untrustworthy.

(Waiting outside to pick her up from marching band practice)
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Handy Haversack:

Some pro-level rhymes here.

McGroovey, I mean, they're not *wrong* ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm Becky:

@McGroovey if I wasn't able to listen to WFMU after marching band practice, this show would certainly not exist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm McGroovey:

@Becky when is your marching band going to play the WFMU sidewalk record sale thing? (I can't remember what is actually called, because my brain is fritzing)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm McGroovey:

Huh. And speaking of Fritz, I had a sudden memory that the first time I heard a live country band was when I was a kid, and a new neighbor moved in down the street, and two of the boys were Scott my age. One of the was named Fritz (and the other was named Carl). They had a family county-western band, and they rehearsed in the living room.

And if course, they left (moved away) in the dead if night without telling anyone, running from the law or creditors or both.

yoyo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm McGroovey:

Free-associating
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm Rosey is Listening on 91.1 MHz:

This is so darn funny. I JUST learned about this song, like days ago. Been fortunate enough to take Amtrak's Cardinal train a couple times recently and will again this Sunday. Goes through West Virginia, so I've been learning a lot about the fascinating history in those southern WV boom-and-bust towns. I happened to miss the South Park episode that used this song but saw the video of it, was about Amazon.
  8:30pm sofaslim:

formal greeting
  8:32pm sofaslim:

all I hear is static warbling on 91.1 and 91.9
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm Becky:

Can anyone else report in on 91.1 / 91.9?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm Rosey is Listening on 91.1 MHz:

I've been fine on 91.1
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The stream is honky-tonking.
Avatar 8:33pm BothKindsofMusic:

Hi BB.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:34pm ultradamno:

Melvin Van Peebles died today too.
  8:34pm sofaslim:

in NYC
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 8:34pm Handy Haversack:

Very sorry for your loss, Becky. Sympathy and solidarity.

91.1 fine in Greenpoint, BK. 91.9 is staticky but also generally unreliable here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35pm Rosey is Listening on 91.1 MHz:

I seem to be getting it on 91.9 NYC too. I don't pick it up as well here but definitely hear something. I can get 90.1 as well. Coming in surprisingly well. I'm up near the George Washington Bridge.
Avatar 8:36pm BothKindsofMusic:

Sorry about your friend. It sounds like he had a big impact on you and others who spoke highly of him.
  8:36pm johnk77:

  8:36pm dano59:

Lemme just say: Wesley Reynolds yeah!
Played that a couple weeks ago
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36pm Chop Scott:

Air signal is fine 91.1 in Red Hook Brooklyn.
  8:37pm sofaslim:

I'd like to say he's in a better place, but I don't know where people go when they really go
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38pm Becky:

Thanks @BKoM. He was a good one.
Avatar 8:39pm BothKindsofMusic:

This live TJ is super boss. "THAT'S WHY I'M SINGIN!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39pm Becky:

Yeah, outstanding! His '60s live TV appearances are spectacular, see also Chills and Fever.
  8:40pm Peter Kaprelian:

Tom Jones IS PRACTICALLY OPERATIC!
  8:42pm dano59:

Tom Jones was a bona fide TV Star in the late 60s. That one sounded borderline Italian crooner.
  8:43pm sofaslim:

I got a Volvo
  8:44pm dano59:

Gimme a ride to heaven, boy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm McGroovey:

91.1 is loud and clear in North Bergen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Your radio has the up-to-date patches intstalled, sofaslim? Have you tried rebooting it? 📻

Thanks, Becky. Great show. Much appreciated, and very sorry about your friend.

Later on down the toy roads, Tonka Trucks.
Avatar 8:54pm BothKindsofMusic:

Peggy's voice sounds like she's singing at 52RPM.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm Becky:

Can confirm Peggy is solidly at 45.

Thanks, Becky. Condolences on your loss.

Another big crossover hit from my Ute
