	2:23pm B R M: Bo Burnham grew up on YouTube, not like "he grew up watching YouTube", he literally grew up making videos on YouTube and was one of the early YouTube "hits" with his "comic songs" which are the regrettable musings of a teenage white boy. As he got more popular as time went by, it seems to me he has come to regret his participation in the advancing of the horrible impacts of social media; his film EIGHTH GRADE shows the strivings for online relevance of a teenage girl trying to find her identity and his comedy specials, for me, comment on the tension he lives between growing to loathe online culture and the awareness that he is an absolute online native who can't stop himself from being a part of the thing he hates. INSIDE, for me, was a takedown of himself and a statement of deep regret for his past and longing for an authentic form of expression, and the pandemic allowed him to deep dive into himself, an act of self-examination that refuses easy self-forgiveness and explores his interior life/ being "inside" during the pandemic. I really liked it and think it and EIGHTH GRADE, are twinned pieces that are really honest and moving artistic statements. Just me, tho.

	2:23pm B R M: Bo Burnham grew up on YouTube, not like "he grew up watching YouTube", he literally grew up making videos on YouTube and was one of the early YouTube "hits" with his "comic songs" which are the regrettable musings of a teenage white boy. As he got more popular as time went by, it seems to me he has come to regret his participation in the advancing of the horrible impacts of social media; his film EIGHTH GRADE shows the strivings for online relevance of a teenage girl trying to find her identity and his comedy specials, for me, comment on the tension he lives between growing to loathe online culture and the awareness that he is an absolute online native who can't stop himself from being a part of the thing he hates. INSIDE, for me, was a takedown of himself and a statement of deep regret for his past and longing for an authentic form of expression, and the pandemic allowed him to deep dive into himself, an act of self-examination that refuses easy self-forgiveness and explores his interior life/ being "inside" during the pandemic. I really liked it and think it and EIGHTH GRADE, are twinned pieces that are really honest and moving artistic statements. Just me, tho.
