First reaction to hearing the Germs l.p.- you mean they’ve been playing actual songs at the shows?- top ten most historical wax releases ever for Los Angeles- watch out if you’re in public near me and a song off this wax comes on- I will fuck shit up

I had my share of treasures that disappeared after being "loaned" to friends. Everything from Roger Corman's memoirs to Kate Bush's "The Dreaming" to (and this one hurt) my Screamers live VHS tape. Of course it's all out there in internet-land now. So keep 'em, bloody thieves!
Avatar 7:20pm
Debbie Davenport:

79-81 I was told two rules about punk. Cautions for when I finally went to out of town.
1.Cut your hair or the city girls will beat you up.
2. If someone comes up to you and says "Germs or Ramones?!" Always answer Germs or they will beat you up.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 7:22pm
WR:

You received good advice Debbie
Avatar 7:23pm
Mr Fab:

re the vetoed meat and jellybeans lp cover idea, Bob Biggs DID build the giant wooden "X", went out in the desert, lit it on fire, and took the classic cover pic for "Los Angeles."
  7:23pm
Milkies:

@Debbie I answered Germones
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm
Rich in Washington:

The pattern continued into the CD age, as my sons and their friends were all huge punk fans, so my most stolen or scratched up CDs were the usual Sex Pistols. Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Misfits, etc.
But they never touched the weirder, rarer stuff.

Ultradamno, I lived in a town population 200 at the time. I think punk was such a wild far away thing that some of us used to read the Weekly World News and wonder about stuff. Some people felt cool being able to tell others what it was like in big cities at the time. I assumed it was true at the time because one of the boys had a big brother that knew Darby. I felt like it was an inside scoop kind of thing.
but no one ever asked me in san fransisco or los angeles. Maybe it phased out like the commas followed by okay and with a questionmark and exclamation mark at the end. Like" Germs rule, okay?! (waves fist).
I was dorky. hard to say.
