Well, never really saw the 'burbs. Well, wait a sec, I take that back. I actually spent the night at a Holiday Inn in Penrith of all places. A friend of mine was attending some conference and it was the only way we'd have been able to see each other. But besides that, I was in Rose Bay and Newtown. I saw some suburban blight on the train to Katoomba though. Now that's a nice town, up in the mountains.

That's a bummer about Katoomba. I was there in 2005, stayed at the hostel, which was really nice (nice hostels in general over there). The town had a pretty hippie-ish vibe, kind of like Oregon.
