  3:36am
Mike W.:

NOT OFF A 7 INCH???
But but but

It was also (or originally) on a CBS/Columbia white label radio promo thing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37am
Brian D:

About half the show will be 7"s. Maybe more than half.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40am
Brian D:

Amazingly, the Slits 7" of which you speak @Mike W. is not in the FMU record library. I say amazingly, because almost everything else is.
  3:41am
Mike W.:

You know we canโ€™t see what youโ€™re doing bc itโ€™s radio
โ€œSure that was off a 7 inch my dear listenersโ€ etc

@Brian: I wonder whether the "single" name includes digital one-offs. Otherwise it would skew older (I think it does, to an extent), as there are not many 7" releases these days

I remember that sinking feeling that day when his show was replaced by an archive. I think Mary Wing was on the air before. I knew something was very wrong
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38am
Brian D:

Indeed. Gone far too soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

William Berger presented an intense Genre that no one any else did (or does) - a strong medicine available nowhere else - & yet was notably accessible & welcoming in it. He was opinionated - but completely approachable - even conversational & friendly about it - despite having a dedicated curators's & a specialist's command. I shared thots about the meanings of the Horror genre with him - not too many times, but he was engaged & intelligent in it. It's no mere coincidence he was widely beloved & will not be forgotten.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am
Brian D:

Well said, Rev. I never met him, but always learned a lot from his show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57am
fred:

I do remember a B-side from a U2 single, something like "Alex goes into hell for a bottle of milk". Probably didn't age well, but I loved it then
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59am
Scott67:

Thanks Brian! Take it easy all.
