	♥ 7:03am yerfriendpaul: Something incredible happened to me last night and I have WFMU to thank for it. I think I’ve talked to you all about the story of my finding a record back in the 80s of a musician who shares my name, Paul McMahon, right? The record cover had a b+w, out-of-focus, close-up photo of a man’s face with a black smiley face drawn over it. I was so excited to discover it in the record bin at my favorite record store in Connecticut. I brought it home to show my Dad, also named Paul McMahon. We listened and loved the tunes for their trippy strangeness, especially the short minute-long song called “Turtles”. My Dad brought the record to his high school chorus class and pretended the record was his to see what reaction he’d get. It’s a great memory and I still have the record. Guess who reached out to me via Instagram last night? Yes! Paul McMahon messaged me saying that he liked my animations!! I told him of my experience with his music and he enjoyed the story! He lives up in Woodstock and still plays out on occasion. It turns out he has an FMU and Sesame connection too! He had been on Bill Berger’s Hip Bone show in the 80s a bunch of times as well as Glen Jones a number of times. He worked in the mailroom at Henson associates back in the 80s! Pretty cool! I told him to put me on his mailing list and will definitely make the trip to see and meet him! How great is that?!!! Sorry for the long post but I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!

I think I’ve talked to you all about the story of my finding a record back in the 80s of a musician who shares my name, Paul McMahon, right? The record cover had a b+w, out-of-focus, close-up photo of a man’s face with a black smiley face drawn over it. I was so excited to discover it in the record bin at my favorite record store in Connecticut. I brought it home to show my Dad, also named Paul McMahon. We listened and loved the tunes for their trippy strangeness, especially the short minute-long song called “Turtles”. My Dad brought the record to his high school chorus class and pretended the record was his to see what reaction he’d get. It’s a great memory and I still have the record. Guess who reached out to me via Instagram last night? Yes! Paul McMahon messaged me saying that he liked my animations!! I told him of my experience with his music and he enjoyed the story! He lives up in Woodstock and still plays out on occasion. It turns out he has an FMU and Sesame connection too! He had been on Bill Berger’s Hip Bone show in the 80s a bunch of times as well as Glen Jones a number of times. He worked in the mailroom at Henson associates back in the 80s! Pretty cool! I told him to put me on his mailing list and will definitely make the trip to see and meet him! How great is that?!!! Sorry for the long post but I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!
