Favoriting November 7, 2021: Ed's Fall Fantasy Show
Autumn has arrived in NYC, my favorite time of the year. And with that spirit, I give you a show with some of my favorite, but seldom if ever heard songs from the ‘60s and ‘70s. Of course, it wouldn’t be Atlantic Tunnel without a fair dose of new music. I’ve got some great new releases from RW Hedges, Richard Ashcroft with Liam Gallager, The Greek Theatre, Fontaines DC, Ger Eaton, Nick Frater, David Christian And The Pinecone Orchestra and Held By Trees.

RW Hedges:

Well It's nice to get played in America. Tin Pan Alley for a start. Rw Hedges is on spotify and we have an album themed in the American West of 1877 which sounds risky I know but has good songs and doesn't over do it's theme. New album Year after year is sweet. Godbless all, RW

This sounds more Gallagher than Ashcroft
Avatar 👻 2:38pm
Don Ciccone:

RW Hedges: are you in Devonshire?
Avatar 2:38pm
AtlanticTunnel:

It does, but it's from Ashcroft's album. That Liam voice is very strong!
  2:39pm
Double R:

Sounds like Ashcroft only played Tamborine
  2:39pm
Double R:

Good song nonetheless

That's cool, Leigh. We saw him in London a few years ago.
  2:48pm

Is Deighton pronounced - Dig-A- Ton, as Ed said? I've always pronounced it Day-Ton
Avatar 2:48pm
AtlanticTunnel:

I have no idea? Leigh?
Avatar 👻 2:50pm
Don Ciccone:

The Fleshtones should cover this Equals number.
  2:51pm
Double R:

Love me some Equals
Avatar 2:51pm
AtlanticTunnel:

That's a cool idea, Don Ciccone. Meanwhile, ever since Ed played this song by The Toms, it's stuck in my head! Not complaining!
Avatar 2:52pm

This one takes the first bit from Dylan's Positively 4th Street and goes from there. quite nice
Avatar 👻 2:53pm
Don Ciccone:

Thumbs up on The Toms. Great track.
Avatar 👻 2:55pm
Don Ciccone:

Very Beach Boys, this one, eh?
Avatar 2:55pm
Ms.Amanda:

I would pronounce it Day-ton. (Deigh...Leigh) but I've only just got my Bow-Tie Bow-ie sorted out!
  2:55pm

I'm pretty sick of Beach Boys-esque bands and songs.

  2:57pm
Double R:

The Beach Boys haven't been good since John Stamos left
  2:58pm
Leigh Gregory:

Not sure on the correct pronunciation of Matt's name... I have Villager and the live stuff and always thought he sounded lots like John Martyn on those recordings...
  2:59pm
Dennis Diken:

Hi Melani & all - diggin’!

Thanks Ms. Amanda!!! How's the evenin' going there. Glad your in the Tunnel!!!

Of course, Double R!
  3:05pm
Double R:

Then I hate to break it you...... I don't like this song at all.
Avatar 3:07pm

It is kind of 'Smith-y' so I get it. Ed more of a Morrissey fan than me.
  3:08pm
Double R:

Not a Smiths fan
Avatar 👻 3:08pm
Don Ciccone:

Me neither.
  3:08pm
Gerry from Miami:

Double R, wait a gosh darn minute. Just because a group of guys calls itself the Beach Boys doesn't make it so. A band with not even one Wilson brother and that featured John Stamos and Mike Love should never be called Beach Boys. Just sayin'.
  3:09pm
Double R:

Thanks for getting the joke Gerry From Miami

Double R, at first I was going to suggest you go into comedy writing, thinking you were serious. So relieved to find out you were just joking. Thanks for my Sunday belly laugh! Right on, brother!

RW Hedges:

I'm in Iver. It's an old place. Doomsday book. I was born in Devon in Brixham, a fishing village. It's where fictionally James Bond learnt to sail (ha ha limey bond types)
I grew up in West London. The thing is here in the Uk;
To make even a little bit of money it was more sense to play Liverpool than London before the pandemic, all that travelling? London music is a pain in the bs because of obvious leadership failings in flailing UK? Anyway I write with Luca Nieri and you must listen to his music, he's also my producer. If any of you haven't heard it, please listen to an evening with Dorothy Fields on Youtube she is one of your best lyricists x
Avatar 3:31pm
AtlanticTunnel:

Hi Delphine! Yes Ed put together quite an eclectic show today!
  3:32pm
Double R:

Roy Ayers? Was the show hacked?
Avatar 👻 3:34pm

Double R - Ha - you should know Ed by now - he likes to surprise his listeners. Works well in this set.
  3:35pm
Double R:

I think he meant Kevin Ayers, got the wrong Ayers
Avatar 3:36pm
AtlanticTunnel:

Double R - well he does LOVE Kevin; named an album after him.
  3:36pm
Double R:

I think the best thing I heard all show is the Ogden's Nut Gone Flake bed underneath Ed's talking
  3:38pm
Double R:

He did? I thought the Kaye album was named for Kaye Ballard?

Avatar 3:47pm

I loved Creation Records and working with Alan McGee. Ed has a funny story about Alan and Joey Ramone...
  3:49pm
Double R:

Ed should do a Creation themed show and tell the tale.
Avatar 3:50pm

Love that idea! Haven't been able to see the Creation Records film yet.
  3:51pm
Double R:

Is it on Amazon Prime? I think I saw it listed at some point

The greta BLEU, co-wrote and produced Danny Wilkerson. You should hear Bleu's LEO project. It's like a Rutles ELO
