Coel, who do you think that band under the flimsy looking rain fly is?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
coelacanth∅:

i don't know but the singer's either very tall or maybe jumping straight up?!
presumably a dutch band and i would probably recognise only 1 dutch band from that kind of distance
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
coelacanth∅:

(if it weren't a dutch band i'd say maybe it's Love)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Franco Twinkie:

Look at the singers pants!
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I don't think Love ever perfromed in the NL...

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:24pm
Jan Turkenburg:

It's a screenshot from an article I found this morning and can't find at the moment... It's from a festival in the east of The Netherlands
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm

Jan i was assuming you know who it is...but if you don't, maybe it's not a dutch band after all?

...i really like that setting

is the first edition of this festival. An educated guess after quick scan, is that these are all pictures of this first editon with Dutch bands among which The Golden Earring and The Shoes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm
coelacanth∅:

ah -sounded familiar!
still, i think P5 may've lifted the main melody
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:39pm

@Franco yes and performed by Gruppo Sportivo

hey mixing up pizzicato 5 and gruppo sportivo is understandable!
(in my opinion)

This is the flip-side of We love you Beatles.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm
coelacanth∅:

PK 'glad she's improving. i had (have?) "positional vertigo" -i call it menier's syndrome. it was so severe at first that i couldn't work, garden or sometimes stand or walk. felt like i was drunk.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Feldy:

@PK is it like Meniere's? It sounds awful
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:55pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

it is a bit like Menière's and at first we thought it was exactly that but the doctor told us otherwise. But I know that can be crippling, an ex of mine suffered from it..
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

They found inflammatory residues in her blood so the diagnose was set on Neuritis Vestibularis. And today she was not by far as nauseous as she was the days before. She didn't even had to take pills to suppress her nausea.
Nevertheless I made dinner for her tonight.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
Jan Turkenburg:

sounds like quite an ordeal, PK
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:04pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

It isn't. Not at all.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
coelacanth∅:

it's good to have answers and a course of action
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:06pm
Jan Turkenburg:

that's true
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:08pm
Jan Turkenburg:

but being nauseous all the time is nasty, let's say it that way.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:11pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Oh that is true. She was quite nauseous and couldn't leave the house the first week. We started taking little walks last weekend, she holding on to me, and since then it got better. And it was annoying for her she couldn't go to her job, because she started there quite recently.

great show... I have been listening while walking in the woods and fields of detroit with my dog
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:16pm
Jan Turkenburg:

thanks WT!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm
coelacanth∅:

the doctor told me they don't know what causes it, there's no treatment and it usually gets worse, eventually including deafness.
i was seriously scared.
i took a shotgun approach: regulate blood sugar (including taking chromium, copper and manganese supplements); regular chiropractic adjustments; chewing gum to help open the eustachian (sp?) tube... got it to a point where it was a constant slight dizziness, but no horrible days anymore.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

@ Coelacantoø: Menière's sometimes is treatable. read about astronaut Alan Shepard's story with Menière's.thejns.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm
coelacanth∅:

then i decided i could work again and would be renting a space from an acupuncturist. we decided to trade services first and something she did, without consciously focusing on the menier's (which i may not have even told her about) in one treatment almost completely stopped the dizziness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm
coelacanth∅:

PK i'll read that. i do still have dizziness occasionally. i think they've worked some things out in the 15 years since my experience.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:24pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

As far as I know it also can dissipate out of itself. That happened with my ex. But it can be utterly crippling. And mad-making.
Avatar 1:24pm
drolletje:

That's amazing, coelacanth∅... great news
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

@ Coelcanthø - But you say acupuncture did help you to get rid of it for the most?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I wish they would find something to cure tinnitus. Mine slowly gets worse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
coelacanth∅:

yes i almost wouldn't believe it!
2 days, 3 days, on... not dizzy at all!
then, going on, maybe 2X/year i'd have a mild bout of dizziness.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:30pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

@Coela: That sounds like an easy toll to pay for not having to suffer from that the whole time round, day in day out.
Avatar 1:33pm
drolletje:

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:33pm

Avatar 1:37pm

Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

It is a nice wrench, Jan. That is a fact.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:38pm
Jan Turkenburg:

liturally it's 'water pump pliers' I believe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm
coelacanth∅:

that makes more sense
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

There's a type of wrench we often call Bahco here but like Channelock that is just a brand name for tools. An angle grinder is often called a Flex here.
