Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm

Hello Dennis e Denizeni! The solo in "Lonesome Train" is one of my alltime favorites. I'm in the "That's Grady Martin, not Paul Burlinson on a lot of those cuts" camp.

That J.B album is a real rarity.

Avatar 2:30pm
David Shortell:

Did Lennon truly like that Kinks single? Ray was bitter for years about John's condescending attitude when they opened for the Beatles in 1964. Maybe that bitterness influenced his harsh review of "Revolver" in Disc and Music Echo Magazine--or his comment to a reporter in the early Seventies: “I don’t know John Lennon. The last thing he ever said to me was 'fuck off'.”
  2:32pm
Gene Casey:

David: re. "Wonderboy" my only source is a long ago "I head...." comment. It does seem to suit John's psychedelic mindset. What an amazing Kinks record!
  2:34pm
Kevin:

@Gene Casey: Was that track recorded at the "quonset hut" in Nashville where Buddy Holly did some recording?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm

welcome aboard captain mike, myron feld & David Shortell! you too, Mike Conroy - thanks for sending that article today, I was thinking about that one...
  2:37pm
Gene Casey:

Kevin, the Hut was attached to the house on 16th Avenue Nashville Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly (his rockabilly sessions) and probably Burnette preceded the added hut.
