I would hold them in higher esteem if they did something interesting with their drums. They have 2 drummers but only played tepid time keeping. Can only had 1 drummer but Jaki played like he was 3. Also, the guitar playing is too polite and anemic.

In 2008, I saw Mickey Hart band, and I was excited because Steve Kimock and George Porter Jr were in the band. But with Hart playing, it was terrible. Mickey just doesn't seem to give a damn about what is going on around him.

My biggest problem with labels like that is that they frequently become catch-all terms for loosely-related, poorly thought out collections. Your grandma's old darning mushroom, re-painted and put on top of your Scandinavian woven-straw coasters? TOTES hygge-core! A black lace tablecloth with a few rocks and a candle? WITCHCORE. Add a bone and make it GoblinCore! Have a neighbor who does chainsaw carving? Put some ugly-ass sculptures in your 10x10 fake backyard along with some peacock feathers and call it Fairycore or some shit.

I am all for re-purposing things and reducing waste -- I am teaching myself sashiko, boro, and basic decorative mending -- but something MUST be done to stem the "hot glue shit to other shit and give it a label" tide.

In 2008, I saw Mickey Hart band, and I was excited because Steve Kimock and George Porter Jr were in the band. But with Hart playing, it was terrible. Add a bone and make it GoblinCore! Have a neighbor who does chainsaw carving? Put some ugly-ass sculptures in your 10x10 fake backyard along with some peacock feathers and call it Fairycore or some shit.
