A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Felt dizzy with despair last night over the fate of and deeply disturbing non-interest in the insanely brutal treatment of Julian Assange.
Was at the rally on Monday in front of the UK consulate. All the stalwarts were there: Roger Waters, Katie Halper, Randy Credico, Susan Sarandon. But beyond maybe the half dozen of us and a few independent media lenses there wasn’t anybody else. Nobody seems to give a fuck, even as the implications are so staggeringly immense. Problem is so many have been conditioned by the MSM propaganda defamation. (PSA: If you know of others who have been, here’s a really good and comprehensive link covering most of the situation: p-node.org... )
Was just beginning to read the Dream Hampton piece on her when I decided to pop in (before wanting to confirm the author was, I believe, the daughter of assassinated Black Panther Fred Hampton).
Greetings to all!
Besides the non-coverage also of the Maxwell case there haven’t been two more consequential stories in many years than the two mentioned that warrant the attention and participation of all thinking and caring people!
The music allows us to dream of a better world, that we know exists. Upon which we must act. With the music inspiring our actions…

Zinn, thank you for that link and the update. Are there more protests planned? Where is information about them posted (please don't say social media!)?

(You should read “nobody seems to give a fuck” in George Carlin’s voice, particularly from his ultra-brilliant “It’s called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe in it” piece)

I despise social media also, and exert a lot of energy avoiding it, almost always reaching for a book instead. Can’t remember how I heard…was it WBAI, maybe it actually was a fortuitous glance at Twitter based on “following” the right people, think maybe it was Margaret Kimberley of Black Agenda Report..
As I’m sure you’re aware of there’s absolutely no coverage whatsoever in the media. Just fucking staggering, that. Chilling. Totally Orwellian.
Don’t know of what’s next in the near future. Check in occasionally online with folks like Katie Halper and the aforementioned.
Randy Credico did a really good interview with the host of the RT show “Going Underground.” Included was a potent clip of William Kunstler, whose wife incidentally was there at the rally, speaking about how the elites who conspire behind the scenes to destroy truth-tellers, hide behind the public’s fealty to conditioned concepts of “law and order” and justice being “served” to persuade them to think the process is fair and therefore should be trusted (will look up link for you).

Man, on a related note…there was such a charm and wondrous longing in hearing a song on the radio and then grasping for fragments of it in your mind until you could find it again. Shazam, my ass. It was simultaneously a frustrating challenge and rewarding longing for that elusive tune. Sort of a similar feeling one had as a teenager pining for one’s girlfriend, “absence makes the heart grow fonder,” etc.
Can’t imagine how it is today to be a young person but to never have had that feeling of missing someone, when everyone’s in constant, unending communication at all hours via texting and social media.

Wikileaks are not hackers; they are revolutionary repository designed to create a safe haven for whistleblowers to have their documents published anonymously. Wiki, and Julian, were internationally lauded and partnered with The NY Times, Guardian etc for doing the vital journalism of exposing governmental corruption across the globe.
They didn’t hack the DNC. They were presented with inside communications, of which you came read #PodestaEmails, the authenticity of which has never been disputed. Which also, as in the “Collateral Damage” videos provided by Chelsea Manning, have not resulted in the personal danger of any military personnel (another irresponsible and slanderous lie. Of which recently reared its
ugly head again, with the odious and disgraceful promulgation of practically the whole war chest full of lies by MSNBC dumbbell instigator Joe Scarborough and Claire McCaskill recently, which was vigorous refuted by among others, Taibbi/Halper and Greenwald this week).
Please listen to the links above addressed to HH.
Lastly, here’s the key paragraph from Greenwald about the motivations of the US liberal establishment:
“The Obama DOJ had spent years trying to concoct charges against Assange using a Grand Jury investigation, but ultimately concluded back in 2013 that prosecuting him would pose too great a threat to press freedom. But the Biden administration appears to have no such qualms, and The New York Times made clear exactly why they are so eager to see Assange in prison:
‘Democrats like the new Biden team are no fan of Mr. Assange, whose publication in 2016 of Democratic emails stolen by Russia aided Donald J. Trump’s narrow victory over Hillary Clinton.’
In other words, the Biden administration is eager to see Assange punished and silenced for life not out of any national security concerns but instead due to a thirst for vengeance over the role he played in publishing documents during the 2016 election that reflected poorly on Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee. Those documents published by WikiLeaks revealed widespread corruption at the DNC, specifically revealing how they cheated in order to help Clinton stave off a surprisingly robust primary challenge from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). WikiLeaks’ reporting led to the resignation of the top five DNC officials, including its then-Chair, Rep. Debbie Wassserman Schultz (D-FL). Democratic luminaries such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Al Gore’s 2000 campaign chair Donna Brazile both said, in the wake of WikiLeak’s reporting, that the DNC cheated to help Clinton.”
Hope this illuminates some of it for you.
(Apologies again, Trouble!)

Been great hearing David again today. Thx Trouble.
JakeGould:
Given the extent of Drumpf corruption, the fact that Wikileaks has nothing on any of that speaks volumes.
Wikileaks is a patsy for foreign influence in the U.S. There is no balance to their “leaks.”
JakeGould:
What you are describing are efforts to place Drumpf in office that has lead to what positively? Let to a fascist in power and led to the January 6th insurrection.
The Clintons might be corrupt, but Drumpf was/is worse and at no moment did Wikileaks ever expose that guy.
