This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

- curious too how much that sold for.
i used to save stuff like that for posterity
but threw it all out (gave some stuff away, sold a few things) when i decided to live traveling in my car -which i ended up not doing anyway.

Nice organ licks in Umbawa. Someone asked me if I liked the organ the other night, and I tried to explain how -- in band performance and recordings, as opposed to classical or church blastings, which I can take only in modest doses -- in the right tracks played by the right hands it's so freakin' good and happy and right and important to brain appreciation-wiring.
I don't remember the Rice Honeys mentioned on the site.. I'd thought the prize might've come out of Rice Krinkles...with its most unfortunate branding angle and caricature art.

Of course, nobody -- in regular white America anyway -- cared about the Krinkles caricaturing in the day. Amazing how that sorta stuff was so alllll over the place.

why is butterscotch rare now? is it because fake butterscotch tastes like shit and nobody's willing to make it right?

The playlist pic reminds me of the Tipu's Tiger full background story I heard just the other day. No train or snake threat, but still an artistic rendering of a tough day, with sound.
