Absolutely perfect skip.

	1:56pm listener james from westwood: I miss people watching. Especially in cities. My old workplace in Midtown, near Radio City and the Diamond District, was sensational for a peaceful few minutes of observation between work sieges.

	🥁 2:05pm WR: Sorry if my outburst seemed disrespectful to Fahey who had early on used Blind Joe Death as a nom de gitarre. Love all his recordings that I've heard and respect the work he did to document, proselytize and encourage the music of others.
	2:09pm Irene Trudel: WR, no slight taken! He was indeed quite fat at the end of his life. Stork had him in as a guest once when he hosted shows on the WFMU Mothership.. Fahey was in poor shape in those days. But I adore his playing!

	2:33pm Stork: That Fahey encounter was a bit bizarre, and he was in bad shape. His diabetes was already pretty advanced. He was funnier and cannier - and nicer - than you might expect at that stage. I have some very strange recordings from that day. Musically it was pretty much a zero, but he enjoyed speaking into the reverb-soaked microphone I set up for him. He took on a (kiddingly) godlike persona and was hilariously irreverent toward John Allen who was trying to interview him. I recently found those recordings. I have to air some of the best parts some day.

	2:47pm Stork: @Irene: you might remember that not everyone was so nice to John F. when he came to visit. No names, but I still get pissed when I remember. He was super-weird, but quite sweet.
	2:49pm Irene Trudel: At least you were there to appreciate him, others aside. And Peter, it definitely wouldn't be a Christmas show without Joseph Spence. His vocals aside, also a great guitarist!
	2:49pm doctorjazz: Spence is fun, and can obviously play, but his guitar often sounds out of tune to me.

	🥁 2:05pm WR: Sorry if my outburst seemed disrespectful to Fahey who had early on used Blind Joe Death as a nom de gitarre. Love all his recordings that I've heard and respect the work he did to document, proselytize and encourage the music of others.

	2:33pm Stork: That Fahey encounter was a bit bizarre, and he was in bad shape. His diabetes was already pretty advanced. He was funnier and cannier - and nicer - than you might expect at that stage. I have some very strange recordings from that day. Musically it was pretty much a zero, but he enjoyed speaking into the reverb-soaked microphone I set up for him. He took on a (kiddingly) godlike persona and was hilariously irreverent toward John Allen who was trying to interview him. I recently found those recordings. I have to air some of the best parts some day.
