I think of the Dead gestating in the Prankster's Acid Tests - not a club residency & aiming for Hits like every normal band. They weren't even the focus of the Happening necessarily... & they kept that always on some level. Almost as if being too ambitious &/or tight would be too rude a way of courting their particular Muse... I wasn't anywhere near their subculture when I stumbled into a cope of American Beauty - & I like messing with DeadHaters by asserting it lacks nothing that qualifies a Masterpiece. There's plenty of great Dead - but one needs a seriously qualified filter guide (granted - who has time for that...)

I would not be a New Year without Michael Shelley executing his favorite role as the great contrarian of popular culture especially film. If the world loves POWER of the DOG, it it his job to set everyone straight and speak the truth that it is actually the worst film every made. It's a great movie and if you comb through the rare negative reviews you'll find a small group of cranks and attention seekers.
I don't but I will find it necessary to inform you that GET BACK is a really boring waste of time unless you're a nerd fan boy. Found footage, watching paint dry.

Really liked "Power of the Dog" but you gotta be a Campion fan, i.e. "The Piano." Liked "Licorice Pizza" but expectations were too high. Tom Waits and Sean Penn are filler. secondhand fruitcake lol!

oddly enough ... Traditional Irish wedding cakes are/were a large fruit cake ... The remainder saved in a large cookie bin and sprinkled periodically with whiskey preservative with bits eaten on the anniversary over the years... could be 20-30 years...

I've worked in record stores, and owned one for 10 years, and I have too many cds: Promos with no art work, Mojo and Uncut samplers, discs where I only like one or two songs. Almost hoping for some bitter cold, snowy days and then I'll start a massive purge.

I resolve never to post again on this message board.
I'll spare you old dweebs from my bad vibes.
I'll suffer in silence as Michael spreads HIS bad vibes, be it his finding something that everyone likes and trashing it, griping about random things or even interviewing MAGA guests and allow them to spread deadly disinformation with a mild challenge to their anti-vaxing garbage.
I wonder how many of the 20,000 people who died from covid in Tennessee were infected by Cropper.
Goodbye forever & HAPPY NEW YEAR!

@clarke, that's a common criticism of TP, and one I shared when I first watched it a few years ago. But I've never seen the new series, so I figured I'd just go back to the top and take it in as a whole.
