Yeah, I'm totally dissolute over here. Sleeping past 9! Discipline has grown very lax. But the kittens were cuddling, and that made it pretty hard to get up.

They're doing well! They even took pity on me and gave me room to work last night -- and I hooked up the "new" turntable. We are now a fully functional music battle station!

(Well, I gotta get an FM antenna.)

Love this Upper Wilds album!

DJG, I tried moving the antenna from the govmint box that gets TV reception, but that coax has a locking nut on it that prevents my hooking it to the FM coax on the receiver. I couldn't get the one bit of speaker wire I have (also used in the TV antenna) to attach there either, and since there are no radio shacks anymore, it's as easy to order an antenna as it is to order speaker wire. So I did so (and got an emergency radio).

I'd say roof antenna is extremely unlikely, DJG. City living. Reception in the bathroom is good! But we have never managed to pick up FMU in the front room. The quest continues.

Also, am I sure I know what part of me is the "duff"? What if I've been doing it wrong? When is that call-in show?

get some shielded wire, coax would be best. xlr 2nd instrument cable 3rd.... hook up 2 small wires @ your stereo. ground to shield, fm ant to signal wire... then at the bathroom put the 2 2.5' wires connected to the signal and sheild of said wire...

right on so you can fashion a loop of wire that is about 11' 1/2" in length for a full wave antenna... then you just have to connect a wire to it and the fm ant connector... you could coil it into a wreath, but will probably pick up interference. alternatively, there is a kink you can refer to for other simpler designs. www.techwalla.com...

I have a similar issue, my Walkman from 1990 barely pulls 90.1 when I'm mowing the lawn. my phone has crap service at my house, and my WiFi doesn't reach to the edges of my property... the struggle is real with reception, I wish you luck!!
