I decided to check out "Naked Lunch" from my local library as a teen, but noticing that the cover bore the legend, "Includes excerpts from the obscenity trial!," I wondered if the library lady was going to give me any problems. So I thought up a story that it was for a school class. Sure enough, library lady takes a look at the book, looks at my young, innocent-looking self, and asked me, "Umm, I'm sorry, but why are you checking out this booK"? I gave her my prepared school fib, she nodded with relief, and I made off with my forbidden treasure.

When I was a young 'un I checked out Clockwork Orange, which freaked me quite enough, but especially when I got to the last page and someone had drawn a smiley face with swastikas for eyes.

When we were first dating she sheepishly admitted that she searched my library history to see if I'd ever checked out any books like 'how to seduce women' and 'how to dispose of a body', 'how to live with herpes' etc. but also expunged an outstanding library fine.

That's cool, Jeremy! Also, many public library systems use a service like Kanopy, where you can subscribe to movie streaming service using your library account number. I watch a lot of stuff on Kanopy.
