First show - New Year's Eve 2014, the year I moved back to Austin. She played outside at Spider House cafe and ballroom. It was freezing out. We got there early. Got front, center stage. By the time everyone was packed in there like sardines, it wasn't too bad, the cold. I was right there! Every song was perfect and stories were so great between the songs!! She did a few encores and then right before she was done, it started drizzling. Right after that, Shannon & The Clans we're playing inside. It was a perfect New Year's Eve!!❤️🙌🎤🌟

I think it was Todd who was talking on Saturday about how great Ronnie Spector's live shows were, compared to many other stars of her era who were basically doing Motown and other oldies revues. What's so remarkable to me is how she brought that same contemporary (relatively speaking) approach to her recordings, performing songs like the ones you've been playing today that were composed by Marshall Crenshaw, Amy Rigby, the Ramones, etc. It says so much about her as a musician and a person.
