It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

I've lost stuff on a few external hard drives and a PC that started smoking (I had counseled it on smoking, but would it listen?). ...sorry you have problems with external storage. i now have 3 seagate expansions drives (500gb, 2tb & 5tb) i've never lost any files with them, though the one i just got doesn't save my view settings when i unplug it, which seriously sucks -as i have put a lot of time into making every artist and album folder look nice...because i'm a dork...

doc, my strategy is to back up my music 3X, my pictues twice. my music won't exceed 2TB for a while, if ever, and the most important stuff fits on the 500gb expansion, the 750 gb laptop, and another older laptop with 500. (so actually a lot of it is in 5 different places)
...we'll see how accommodating all this storage is as i proceed to digitize probably 1/2 of my vinyl...

I've got a few terabytes digital music on drives, a ton of zip files for more that I haven't unzipped (not enough time to do it, tag, and listen, hopefully one day).
I'd like to digitize my vinyl one day as well (wishful thinking), have an old A-D converter (portable), but each album can take hours to do, ripping, splitting into tracks and tagging. I've had the gear for years-think I've digitized 2 or 3 LP's.

doc, i just looked and i seem to have 755gb of music in "files". <100 gb of that is digitized vinyl, and i may be ~ 1/10th way through it.
i suppose ultimately i'll be backing up all my cds too (4-500?)
i convert most of what's larger than flac to flac. a lot less space used than wav.
