Foo Fighters  Somebody to Love   Favoriting   This is Taylor Hawkins singing. I’ve always loved this video AND this Queen song. It was the one I practiced in the mirror as a kid until I got all of Freddy’s vocal inflections and could hold the notes as long. Taylor does an amazing job. This also reminds me of a story I heard from a friend in the emerging L.A. punk scene. He secretly loved Queen and went to see them at the Forum, but was afraid of being outed as a fan by someone from school. Who does he see there? Every other LA punk scene member, who also secretly loved Queen, including The Germs’ Darby Crash and Pat Smear, who is of course a Foo Fighter.

Glad to see you paying homage to a major part of my childhood! WNEW Channel 5 in NYC (where the program originated) loaned out a studio in Secaucus, NJ (across the Hudson River) where the show was taped (At least that's what I understood about it. Most NYC stations had studios in New Jersey, usually in the Secaucus/North Bergen area, where they would tape shows for later broadcast).
