@Micheal I took a solid Dallas Frazier dive after you played "Home In My Hand" a couple weeks back. Having listened to the Oak Ridge Boys' "Elvira" far too many times as a kid in the 80s, I'd never heard the original until then, and I found myself feeling super disappointed that they sang "fire" straight instead of doing Frazier's "fire-ah" to force the rhyme. So it goes. Musical rabbit holes always appreciated!

I saw it in Royal Oak Michigan. There's a picture in the Rhino Edmunds box of them putting there hands in the cement outside this short lived Hard Rock Cafe ripoff restaurant that Madonna's (!) weasel brother attempted. The celeb cement things are long gone but I was there for that part too. Talked to everybody except the one guy i really wanted to meet. DAVE. He was busy fighting with his girlfriend or wife! True story.

That is to say - Oasis managed to *touch* something TheBeatles completely exemplified. They neither equalled, extended - nor maintained it...

There's a lot of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal that borders on power pop. There's a series called "Jobcentre Rejects" by the Swedish label On The Dole that comps some more obscure NWOBHM tracks and it's surprising how much of it could be passed off as power pop-y.
