Favoriting Hinky Dinky Time with Uncle Michael: Playlist from April 8, 2022 Favoriting

Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

a 20-minute ELP song is a long track; a 20-minute Daniel Menche song is not a long track.
a 20-minute vanilla fudge song is a VERY long track.

The long track was recorded in 1963.

Coelacanth, this case may have more to do with "impersonation" than song authorship. Remember the fake Byrds and Fleetwood Mac bands that made the rounds during the 70s? Supposedly the album that was released featuring the real Surfaris only contained two songs by the actual band, "Wipe Out" and its b-side, "Surfer Joe." The rest of the LP is performed by "substitute" musicians.

A brief obit for Khorshid appeared in Variety, July 15, 1981. Doesn't shed light on the album, but:

Omar Khorshid, age unreported, Arabian guitarist, was killed recently in an automobile accident near the Gaza Pyramids outside Cairo. He performed at the White House in 1979 to help celebrate the signing of the American-sponsored Camp David peace between Egypt and Israel.

Khorshid's music was popular with Egyptians throughout the world.

He is survived by his wife, who was also injured.
