	♥ 9:37am G: @Trouble: The O'Keefe Museum in Santa Fe is only open four days a week and is often sold out early in the day -- The O'Keefe tour here where she lived in Abiquiu also sells out. Make arrangements before the day, if possible. Many people seem to be here for O'Keefe stuff, duh. (I'm writing from the Abiquiu Inn right by the tour building.) More generally, many things in NM seem to be closed on Mondays; watch out for that. Los Alamos has science/nuclear stuff, where the atomic built was invented in WWII. You can see petroglyphs various places, also cliff dwellings, and current pueblo areas maintained by Pueblans -- but sometimes they are open on a given day, sometimes not. Etc!

	10:11am morphe': The Birds: Wrote a story about an Irish guy trying to escape the Nazi occupied France and Vichy Nazi France from Marseille on a boat to Mexico or Argentina and/but tried to also help an old Jew to get out with him ... but the old guy refused to cut his beard and sooo all is on delay .. one day the Irish guy goes down to to survey the Port ... trying to decide if to just save himself and leave the old guy behind ... a fishing boat pulls in and the Gulls were storming and squaring and the Irish guy says to himself aloud "Even the Gullies are laughing at me.."

In case you don't know it was a Japanese radio station from the early 90s that had a "Tide of Sounds" broadcast that would mix nature field recordings with ambient music, house, jazz, lounge. Very much reminiscent of your show given the birds you play and your taste in music. Amazing stuff.

I also played my first softball game in 2.5 years on Tue. and then did two hours of raking and cleaning up outside yesterday, and my left thumb, right hip, and all four? eight? hamstrings are in open revolt. There is a newish Super LUX Hotel in Marseille which was the warehouse for mothers and children HOTEL BOMPARD ... Notorious place .. should have been a place of memory not a 5* Hotel.. RIP Phil. 8 (?) of his 13(?) kids formed the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, who I used to see on the streets of Chicago, before they headed East to NYC to make it big.

	♥ 11:13am queems: @trouble i think it's still too cold for them. they go nuts in the summer- i read this article once about how hackensack river crabs are super aggressive because of all of the heavy metals. if you swap them with crabs from cleaner water, the mean crabs get calm, and the calm crabs get mean

	♥ 11:37am YETI BOB: Woods: Honestly, I never want to see another looper-pedal show again. So many of these over the last year or two, and always the same problems: lack of development, songs ending abruptly when the player hits the "stop" pedal. I think it's a byproduct of COVID, too many people sitting in rooms by themselves, instead of playing music with other people. IMO it's just so limiting and static. I want to see actual live energy when I go to a show.
	♥ 11:40am Handy Haversack: There's a section of concrete embankment on Newtown Creek (Queens side, just east of Greenpoint Ave. bridge) that is set with weird metal staples or something just under the lip. Swallows nest there every year, so we often can paddle up pretty close and see the babies in the nests (made of mud carried in the swallows' mouths!) while the adults are hunting mosquitoes over the creek. YB, another COVIDsplanation for it is that the fewer people you have to bring on tour, the better your odds of not losing people/revenue/the tour to COVID. So bands that use full suites in the studio are touring without bass, drums, etc. more often.

We saw Alabaster dePlume last week, he's touring solo, and recruiting musicians in different cities... he was backed by members of the Black Monument Ensemble and it was FANTASTIC. He remarked how great it was to connect with musicians in different cities. That's what music is about, for me. (Also a few of the tedious looper-pedal shows I saw were locals so they don't have the "touring" excuse!).

	♥ 11:54am McGroovey: Sometimes when people don't have a bass player or drummer, it's because they just haven't gotten around to looking, and none of their friends happen to be drummers or bass players. I bought a looper pedal to mess with, but I never found a use for it. Yeah, sometimes it ends up replacing the the rhythm section, lazily, and I'm mostly a bass player. I don't see any need to replace myself.

	♥ 9:37am G: @Trouble: The O'Keefe Museum in Santa Fe is only open four days a week and is often sold out early in the day -- The O'Keefe tour here where she lived in Abiquiu also sells out. Make arrangements before the day, if possible. Many people seem to be here for O'Keefe stuff, duh. (I'm writing from the Abiquiu Inn right by the tour building.) More generally, many things in NM seem to be closed on Mondays; watch out for that. Los Alamos has science/nuclear stuff, where the atomic built was invented in WWII. You can see petroglyphs various places, also cliff dwellings, and current pueblo areas maintained by Pueblans -- but sometimes they are open on a given day, sometimes not. Etc!

	♥ 11:37am YETI BOB: Woods: Honestly, I never want to see another looper-pedal show again. So many of these over the last year or two, and always the same problems: lack of development, songs ending abruptly when the player hits the "stop" pedal. I think it's a byproduct of COVID, too many people sitting in rooms by themselves, instead of playing music with other people. IMO it's just so limiting and static. I want to see actual live energy when I go to a show.
	♥ 11:40am Handy Haversack: There's a section of concrete embankment on Newtown Creek (Queens side, just east of Greenpoint Ave. bridge) that is set with weird metal staples or something just under the lip. Swallows nest there every year, so we often can paddle up pretty close and see the babies in the nests (made of mud carried in the swallows' mouths!) while the adults are hunting mosquitoes over the creek. YB, another COVIDsplanation for it is that the fewer people you have to bring on tour, the better your odds of not losing people/revenue/the tour to COVID. So bands that use full suites in the studio are touring without bass, drums, etc. more often.

We saw Alabaster dePlume last week, he's touring solo, and recruiting musicians in different cities... he was backed by members of the Black Monument Ensemble and it was FANTASTIC. He remarked how great it was to connect with musicians in different cities. That's what music is about, for me. (Also a few of the tedious looper-pedal shows I saw were locals so they don't have the "touring" excuse!).

	♥ 11:54am McGroovey: Sometimes when people don't have a bass player or drummer, it's because they just haven't gotten around to looking, and none of their friends happen to be drummers or bass players. I bought a looper pedal to mess with, but I never found a use for it. Yeah, sometimes it ends up replacing the the rhythm section, lazily, and I'm mostly a bass player. I don't see any need to replace myself.
