Capsule commander Michael López-Alegría and co-pilot Larry Connor, flanked on the left by Israeli Eytan Stibbe and on the right by Canadian Mark Pathy, undocked from the space station’s Harmony module at 9:10 p.m. EDT and slowly backed away.
“Thanks once again for all the support through this amazing adventure that we’ve had, even longer and more exciting than we thought,” López-Alegría radioed ground teams shortly after undocking. “We really appreciate your professionalism. And with that, we’ll sign off.”
After spending a final “night” in space, the Crew Dragon fliers planned to monitor an automated nine-minute firing of the spacecraft’s braking rockets at 12:16 p.m. Monday, slowing the ship by about 132 mph to drop the far side of the orbit into the atmosphere.
After a half-hour freefall, the Crew Dragon will plunge back into the discernible atmosphere and descend across the heartland of America along a northwest-to-southeast trajectory toward a landing site off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida. Splashdown is expected at 1:06 p.m.
April 27th

There was bus substitution between Hoboken Second Street and Harismus Cove in Jersey City on the light-rail line, but I just biked that gap myself to get between the two segments operating last weekend. I hadn't been to Liberty State Park in a few years.
It was restorative
Especially after the winter.
Getting off the floor is much harder.
One of my favorite bike rambles
is riding along the Hudson

Hoboken to Liberty State Park.
You can go further North but it gets dicey

That would be something to witness

If you really stop to think of it weather (the planet, environment, etc) is everything. In every way. Sometimes doesn’t dawn on me enough to elevate Climate activists enough.
Then this weekend this happened: (reddit.com...).
And I’m compelled to mention this deeply courageous activist whose final act should make us pause. No matter how we feel about the act itself. It takes incredible selflessness, the ultimate sacrifice.
Anybody who makes a political statement like that deserves to be acknowledged in a deep and reverential manner.
The media immediately assigns it to the Memory Hole. Which is cowardly. It deserves to be discussed, in all ways, from mental health to the climate crisis to why we can’t talk like adults about these things.

Thanks for showing us that sometimes vengeance is more horrible than the crime it is meant to punish and reveals everyone’s true face!

I'm pissed the rail isn't being restored, @alanSix. Rail trails are almost always BS that are built for recreation and not transportation while blocking actual transportation via restored rail service. Most people will wind up driving to a parking-lot trailhead for a little exercise. Rail trails are a favourite of faux environmentalists and racist reactionary NIMBYs.
Like most rail trails, it will probably close between dusk and dawn, and if it's randomly closed and you rely on it, you're screwed. It's a massive insult, and I say that as an advocate for cycling, mass transit, and the environment.
That ride sounds awesome, @dday. I love taking the train to Port Jervis and biking. I've biked to Northwest New Jersey and the Poconos but still haven't done much in New York state. Definitely need to bike to Hawk's Nest. Bethel isn't too far either.
That train line used to ACTUALLY run through towns like Monroe, Middletown, and Goshen instead of going to middle-of-nowhere park-and-rides via a low-grade freight bypass. But that main line is now a rail trail...really wish passenger service still went all the way to Binghamton and beyond as well, like back in the Erie Railroad days.
Happy it worked out, Buddha!
Have a good day Glisteners. miss ya'll
Safe day all
Peace
We’re in this together…good day to all.
