BUT
I rescued a German woman from the group in the early 90s ... met her at a gig and we talked and she asked for help ... so we went and got her stufff and she came to live in my apt until she could get back to Berlin. She was not in fear of them but just felt controlled and manipulated ... They also seemed to have some sex rules - not as insane as the Sullivans (NYC) but still insistent rules about sex and partners and non-partners..

Met 2 young Dutch women at a friends house (NYC) who got stuck in a bad sublet and needed out and a place for 2-3 days before going back to A'dam...
I said ok ... First thing one says when coming in is: "Look at all those books.. I used to steal books from my step-father and sell them for money..."
I slept with both eyes open, told them I had no extra keys and make them awake with me at 6am to leave at 7 for work and told them meet me at the door at 7pm.." Those were 3 unpleasant nights...
