Listener comments!
three graveyards flowing to and through Silk City.
Pushing its bulk against the earth in a corporal act of mercy.
Grinding
Slowly
To wash the dead away.
The final days of winter flow in its wake.
Deep and darkened
River water reshapes the land.
Everything moving.
Starting small,
Oxbows,
Backwaters,
Slithering in the ancient glacial groove.
Cut by snake current.
Moving muscle of river sweeps winter bones from its banks.
Carried for miles
Flow tumble & roll
end crushed at the thundering base of Falls.
Dry now in the morning sun.
The same sun that promises Spring
Good morning Clay, geo in jc, and glistening friends!
America... home of the free
Spay Day.
Having gotten my vasectomy 2 years ago, please sprinkle some pixie dust for Luna
and anyone else doing something a little scary
But right and necessary.
Beautiful poem post.
Fits the day and all sorts of ways.
Your work or another?
Thank you.
That’s my writing.
I always put quotation marks around someone else’s work.
Our neighborhood fox screamed at our cat Pebbles this morning. Quite a blood curling howl those foxes make . 🦊
Here’s one of mine:
——————
Time Will Wipe Away the Corpses
We cast our buildings upon the world.
Superiority are the bones on which hang the meat.
Confidence of those we deem superior
form a legendary roof that will forever arc over hearts, minds, and children.
We think the earth stationery, stoic.
We ascribe her fits, rumblings, pulsating waves of liquid destruction to chance.
We credit gods for forces the earth creates, controls.
We sometimes chuckle,
as we rush across the land
tickled by the scurry and cling of the insects to a windshield.
We sigh with frustration when one explodes, obscuring our view.
As with all things, we have the tools to remedy the situation.
A switch is flipped
a cleanse obscures the view
a flicker of movement
the corpse is gone.
Yet the earth is not still.
she moves at speeds that while
stable are still largely incomprehensible.
She flies,
us crawling upon her skin,
And through the void
round the source.
Yet the source hurtles round a still larger source
A maw,
wide and sucking
swallowing and obliterating
Matter
Light
All
Yet even the maw,
that darkest, lightless
heart
pulsing at reality's core
even that
spins and arcs
out into...
more?
Meanwhile,
we celebrate our power.
A swish clears the corpses
our confidence shelters us
as we watch,
our superiority reaches higher and higher.
Amid the cigar smoke,
the knowing laughter of opulence,
heads shake in bewilderment
"We're killing the planet?
Unbelievable.
I'm still using this planet,
why would I ever kill it?"
They're right of course.
We are never going to kill this planet.
It will circle on,
one link
in a ceaseless chain.
And time,
with a flicker
unperceivable to the planet,
will wipe the corpses away.
“We credit gods for forces the earth creates…”

“You caught me and held me and called me your own
Then kicked in my teeth and left with my bone
Now I know you ain't little, but I ain't that small
& you had surprise on your side, after all…”
But I mean, who do you ever get to believe it
When you tell them you got the keys to the rain?
PaulRobeson1922,
Who indeed will believe your noble intentions,
With your keys in hand?
& nothing remains but the song of the hours
I hope you can digg it I know that you will…
It’s gonna be all right baby!

"Black Star—the duo of Yasiin Bey[Mos Def] and Talib Kweli—have finally announced the details of a new album. Their second full-length, No Fear of Time, arrives nearly 24 years after their 1998 debut Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star. Madlib produced the new album, which will get released on the podcasting platform Luminary on May 3. Find the album cover and a teaser below.

It is an original and that whole album is fantastic!
I think of Ken’s show as
a street sweeper.
One huge mechanical juggernaut
Small parts falling off (assorted springs and screws)
Barreling down your street.
Whipping up everything in its wake
While Ken,
with one arm out the window
drinks a large Dunkin Donuts coffee
while steering with his knees
Funny, isn't it, karlward?
Glad you're recovered, DJTT!
Wait, are we not doing the Spartacus thing?
And what Krys said!
Yes yes yes,
But can you do it….
Faster?
(While you riding in the Cadillac with little Bobby Hutton)
Good Stuff DJTT <3 Hollywood Swinging is everywhere now donta’cha know

Glaciers shaped NJ from High Point to the Raritan river.

“Treasure Your Mind, Cherish Your Reason, Hold to Your Purpose”
Don’t surrender your mind.
If someone were to casually give your body away to any old passerby, you would naturally be furious.
Why then do you feel no shame in giving your precious mind over to any person who might wish to influence you? Think twice before you give up your own mind to someone who may revile you, leaving you confused and upset.”
