	5:21pm Mike Rogers: Yeah, usually big USA companies come here and think "All we have to do is translate everything into Japanese and we're all set...." Uh, NO! I used to advise big USA company presidents about what's going on here. I think they didn't believe me most of them time.
	5:22pm Mike Rogers: It can get frustrating when someone (who doesn't speak the language) thinks they know everything about the country.

	♥ 5:24pm ultradamno: I imagine Wal Mart are just so used to moving in and flattening everybody else adaptation is an underdeveloped skill set.
	5:26pm Mike Rogers: Yeah, not in Japan. For example someone can open up a liquor store or something, but if they are within a short distance from an existing mom & pop shop, that's a no-no.
	5:28pm Mike Rogers: In Japan, there are many many mom & pop shops. They own the building and usually live in the same building. Also, Japanese culture is tightly knit communities.... Just some convenience store comes in and many people will not patronize that convenience store.
	5:29pm Mike Rogers: Also, there are shopping streets and they have an association, so those shops all support each other.
	♥ 5:30pm ultradamno: That's a lot healthier for the economy and the communities in the long run. So many areas in the US are now entirely dependent on Wal Mart, if they went out of business it would be a catastrophe for them.

	♥ 5:41pm ultradamno: The other thing you see in the US is where there's a Meijer, Target or a Kroger Wal Mart will situate a location as close to across the street as possible so you wind up with big box centralization that probably has more than a little to do with how food deserts have become a thing.

	6:42pm SW: The thing I dislike with live albums is when you can hear the crowd going 'woo'
	♥ 6:44pm ultradamno: There a couple of other live comps I think are great Roxy London, Short Circuit, Can You Hear Me?, Live At Target, Savoy Sound... @sw it is kind of fun when they obviously sweeten the crowd sounds, like on that Shattered Faith one.

They were boring as hell. 40 minute drum solos and Page twanging on his violin (that'd def where that came from in Spinal Tap!) Man! That was a bad show!

	♥ 6:52pm Rich in Washington: I remember having a visiting neighbor - an Apostolic Lutheran who had never seen TV before - and she didn't get why there was people laughing on MAS*H, since it was obviously filmed, so we explained what canned laughter was. She was like 'Oh! So you know WHEN to laugh!' and then she started laughing along with the show.

	5:26pm Mike Rogers: Yeah, not in Japan. For example someone can open up a liquor store or something, but if they are within a short distance from an existing mom & pop shop, that's a no-no.
	5:28pm Mike Rogers: In Japan, there are many many mom & pop shops. They own the building and usually live in the same building. Also, Japanese culture is tightly knit communities.... Just some convenience store comes in and many people will not patronize that convenience store.
	5:29pm Mike Rogers: Also, there are shopping streets and they have an association, so those shops all support each other.
