Hello all you Duggy Framers! Going live in ten minutes!
Avatar 12:01pm
Mr Fab:

Is this the right sabbath? I brought a goat to sacrifice. My, Jan, your black cloak looks real sharp!
Avatar 12:01pm
Domenic:

Neat picture....We are from Massachusetts, my wife is a descendant of the judge who presided over the Salem Witch trials...

Hi MR. Fab! Hi Domenic!

Disco disco! Hi there Jan! Hi Mr. Fab and Domenic

Hey Paper K.!

Jan Turkenburg:

another 2 guests and we've reached the magic amount of 6!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Wasn't Long Tall Ernie and the Shakers originally a fun exponent of a more serious band?
Avatar 12:14pm
Mr Fab:

Domenic: thats amazing!

You think of "medieval times" as far-off England, but it lasted into American colonization. Weird.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm
MHLee:

Hello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

And sometimes the US still is almost medieval in its opinions. (in some communities, at least..)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Time to get into the kitchen. But I will be listening, of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
MHLee:

Timerjack Donghue doing come to to the sabbat is interesting... I think a new Zealand Band called Timberjack did it somewhere and caused a ruckus
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:16pm

Hey that top button song was pretty good… never heard of them…
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:21pm
Jan Turkenburg:

LOL! Hi Kurty, yes, you should be able to swipe to the playlist,
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:22pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, they're pretty cool. Can't remember how I stumbled upon them.
Avatar 12:26pm
Domenic:

@Mr Fab.. her ancestors moved to Maine (at the time northern Massachusetts) to get away, I guess from he stigma... the Scarlatti by Ruth White is very nice.... Thanks Jan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Thanks for the enlightnement, Jan, I knew there was more to LTE&tS besides Jan Rietman.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Jan Rietman was only memmber in their more succesful period. Also Hank The Knife & The Jets is a spin-off of LTE&TS
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

And IIRC the band also had something to do with Stars on 45, right?
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:35pm

Yep. It's all on wikipedia :-)

Ha! Even Herman Brood was a LTE&tS-member for a while! Didn't know that.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:39pm

Of The Moans, not of LTE I believe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm

Again, you are right.

Domenic:

We don't hear enough Zappa...
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:44pm
Jan Turkenburg:

true, Domemic.
Avatar 12:46pm
Domenic:

I used to work with this guy, Richard Durant... everybody called him "dude" All he played in the lab was Zappa..
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:47pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I can imagine they called him 'dude':-)
Avatar 12:48pm
Mr Fab:

Well, Zappa was so prolific, I suppose one could live on a pretty steady diet of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:49pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Oh Wow, the "official LTE&tS homepage" is straight out of 1995! www.long-tall-ernie.nl
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:50pm
Jan Turkenburg:

AND it's got downloads!
Avatar 12:51pm
Domenic:

Richard was a scout leader in Ayer Massachusetts when Fort Devens was there and Colin Powell the commanding officer... He would ask for favors for the Scouts..Colin Powell would go "Hey Dude!" whenever he went it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

This could be the cousin of that John McCormack. Does Darryl know of this soing?
Avatar 12:56pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Check out the history page on that site: www.long-tall-ernie.nl...

Hi KenZo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

LOL @ Kenzo! You're right! Hilarious.
Avatar 12:59pm
Mr Fab:

that website...can you even make one like that anymore?
Avatar 1:00pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I'm studying it from many angles. There are many indications it was created to be deliberately retro looking.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
Jan Turkenburg:

It's a gift that keeps on giving. There's a lot of Dutch Pop/Rock History to be found there.
Avatar 1:01pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

But...it's rather convincing. It's always been well maintained, and none of the elements or functionality (such as guestbook) have broken. For an archaic creation that's using deliberately old style and web tech, it's very well maintained. And there's no convincing sign it existed before 2006.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

I guess it has been designed to look archaic and all that. But in fact it is indeed well-maintained.
Avatar 1:04pm
Domenic:

That racoon should be burned in a dumpster fire.... LOL
Avatar 1:04pm
Mr Fab:

yes, the link to the equally cheesy-looking Dutch Beat band site is a valuable resource. Lots of "Yes We Have No Mountains"-type discoveries.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Jan your raccoonmixes never get boring.
Avatar 1:04pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Now, admittedly, if it was created in 2006, it wouldn't be a huge stretch for a site looking less than 10 years out of date to be legitimately created.
Avatar 1:05pm
Domenic:

Yes Paper Kosmonaut...
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:05pm
Jan Turkenburg:

@Mr Fab, that's one of my resources as well.

Had missed this episode, pic comment, doesn't look like you found a Good Omens (Gaiman / Pratchett) Agnes Nutter burning at the stake. Hmmm. will look for one.
🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:44pm
WR:

perhaps. It is ANIME style blended with old engraving, not the comics style you set for this one, but since Agnes did nice turnabout to the burn the witch story, I thought worth linking.

64.media.tumblr.com...

That's from JenGrayArt on her tumbler.
🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:45pm
WR:

well, consumed far too much time on that, could have been listening to the music instead. Ha. Laters.
