The first time I saw X was one Sunday afternoon in 1978. It was at the Masque. Exene wasn't there, but DJ was playing the drums without shoes on. He had on two different colored socks. The second time I saw them was about a month later at The Whisky opening for The Screamers. John was wearing a tee shirt that said Rated X.

When Wild Gift came out in 1981, my life was very difficult. One thing that I took solace in was the inner sleeve which was a chaotic storm of the lyrics. A non paralleled album for me. I was at so many show back then - alone with tears in my eyes.
