While watching Something Wild I noticed how many great songs were not on the released soundtrack album. Someone should do an expanded release, though the publishing rights would be a hassle. Demme also talks about how song rights weren't as expensive as they later became.

We were invited to be extras in the Talking Heads movie True Stories and didn't know at the time that the songs the actors were doing would be the "Naked" album following the movie. David Byrne asked me to get him a PB&J bagel and some JuicyFruit gum from the craft table. Funny that was the last Talking Heads album then he'd later put out "Buck Naked" on his solo...

It's a fact that FMU Programs like ThreeChordMonte - Todd-o-Phonic's - Musical Dose with medson (among notables)
...they give both apparent & visceral exposition to the rude, vital & living health & well-bring of the Rawk'n'Rollas
...contrary perhaps to any consensus.

Since going solo from One Direction, Styles, 28, has drawn comparisons with superstars including Jagger and David Bowie in their early days of fame, but the Rolling Stones star has shrugged off any suggestions of similarities. "And he doesn’t have a voice like mine or move on stage like me; he just has a superficial resemblance to my younger self, which is fine — he can’t help that."

From my friend Stuart in Toronto yesterday:

I once had the incredible pleasure of spending an afternoon with Ronnie Hawkins. He kept telling these outrageous stories. Finally I asked: Is any of this true? He smiled and said “If the story’s good, it can be a lie.”

lucybluebear:

Hopefully I am woefully off course. Are you aware of a "celebration" of memorial day of playing taps at 3pm on Memorial Day. It is all over the country and I don't think it is politically motivated. seems appropriate to me

Listener Jumpy in Brooklyn:

I'm currently reading Robbie Robertson's TESTIMONY (found copy, I'm no fan of the Band). I am surprised how much Ronnie Hawkins is in it, along with Bob Dylan, Bob Neuwirth, Morris Levy, the Beatles, Toronto, Arkansas, first nations people (Robbie is part Mohawk), Jewish gangsters (he's also part Jewish), '60s NYC., so something for everyone…

Not sure if this was a conscious decision or not, Joe, but playing Sylvan Esso right after Daughter of Swords amused me because of the fact that D.o.S. and the singer from Sylvan Esso are both in the band Mountain Man.
