Memorable, song-alongable lyrics. … there’s a reason pop music is popular! to wit: My Old School Home at Last Night By Night (Joe Jackson covered in 2019) The Royal Scam (the title track) Dirty Work. My ex was a big fan since college;
	3:45am Noodles: Steely Dan have some wonderful songs, and a lot of songs that are just kind of there. I like a lot of the guitar playing. A pretty solid song with great guitar playing, I think, is "Kings".

What prompted our talk: gave her a copy of the Me, Myself & Irene soundtrack that my friend had found at a Salvo & disliked, discovering he didn’t like covers of Steely Dan as much as he didn’t like Steely Dan. My take is people can be snobs about this stuff. I hope this helps.

	4:32am Itamar: @dano59 I think it really came down to, as you said, their studio perfectionalism. Their records were often played in studios in an attempt to emulate their sound, as they were sonically among the best, if not the. I also believe that since most of the Israeli musicians from that period came from homes with classical music backgrounds, which complied with steely dan's more refined and structuralized style.

Their records were often played in studios in an attempt to emulate their sound, as they were sonically among the best, if not the. I also believe that since most of the Israeli musicians from that period came from homes with classical music backgrounds, which complied with steely dan's more refined and structuralized style.
