Hey there, Tim! I wonder how close (or not) Algerian Arabic is to Moroccan?

I think three of tonight's six sets will be of 45s. There'll be one or maybe two of cassettes and one of LPs. Something like that

I'm no musicologist (sadly), but the string sections on some of these tracks sound somewhat similar to Bollywood. Great stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm
Gary:

I hear that sometimes, too, Zip. This track is a bit odd, in that it was sourced from a cassette, but the version I have is a vinyl reissue/compilation

Hi Gary. I just woke up from my second nap today and my sleep addled brain formulated this question: Is it possible that there in one forlorn and forgotten county where they manufacture 521/2 RPM records that can only be played on a dusty appliance within it's borders?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm
Gary:

Now that I think of it, I believe this album and the one we'll hear next are ALSO sourced from cassettes, but ripped (by me) from vinyl copies for tonight's show

siouxsie incorporated a "typical" chinese riff into their song.
because she's not at all racist.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:01pm

Yeah, my mind runs the non-lyrical parts of that song. I listened to it recently and was mildly horrified by the words there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm

Gary in any case they had some great songs! especially before the creative force of the original rhythm section left.
Avatar 9:11pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Banshees' debut single. Maybe my least favorite track of theirs. Siouxsee repented of the swastikas as did any Punk who used them for shock value early on but had any brains or conscience. Later sporting stars of David & refusing to play til audience members got rid of their swastikas even.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm

Hey, next week come back for a three-hour tribute to Ziad Rahbani! More details later
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm

she did that,RR? (the last part)
if i believe it it's good news.
