	9:30pm Mr. X: In the mid-70s in Coos Bay, one of my friends' dad worked for Warner Cable. My friend said he was involved in some sort of project to provide an on-demand movie service. But nothing ever came of it until at least 30 years later.

	🎸 ♥ 9:32pm Austin Rich: My Dad worked for a phone networking company in the 80's. He kept talking about how there was gonna be a "cable channel" that would be for your computer, and that would be how you would get news and software and stuff. I remember thinking, "My dad smokes too much pot." Which might have been true, but the internet wasn't too much later... and he was right.

	🎸 ♥ 9:35pm Austin Rich: This was inside knowledge; his company was connected to Intel. But I just knew that my dad worked with phones, and had an interest in computers... so it sounded like wishful thinking to a kid.

	9:35pm egould: Hey Rich don’t get hung up on externalities. That’s stuff you can’t control. Focus on what you can control; your life, your relationships, this radio show. The other radio show. Bring joy and goodness to those things, and you bring more joy and goodness into the world. But to get caught up in the misery projected in the news media is a waste of life. It’s degrades your soul. I don’t know what purpose it serves, but it’s not to uplift you; or to unify people in peace and understanding. My two cents.

A combination of collage, new experimental records and other bits and bobs, Mid-Valley Mutations is a tour through the mind of Austin Rich, who has been broadcasting in some form since 1998. Heavily influenced by Dr Demento, Don Joyce and old fashioned College Radio, Austin creates Audio Essays on a variety of subjects, and even just plays records, from time to time. Sometimes Live music and Interviews will grace the program, helping create a situation where you don't really know what you're going to hear, when you tune in. What you need to know is when you enter the Mid-Valley region, be prepared for the Musical Mutations... in whatever form they take.

	9:30pm Mr. X: In the mid-70s in Coos Bay, one of my friends' dad worked for Warner Cable. My friend said he was involved in some sort of project to provide an on-demand movie service. But nothing ever came of it until at least 30 years later.

	🎸 ♥ 9:32pm Austin Rich: My Dad worked for a phone networking company in the 80's. He kept talking about how there was gonna be a "cable channel" that would be for your computer, and that would be how you would get news and software and stuff. I remember thinking, "My dad smokes too much pot." Which might have been true, but the internet wasn't too much later... and he was right.

	🎸 ♥ 9:35pm Austin Rich: This was inside knowledge; his company was connected to Intel. But I just knew that my dad worked with phones, and had an interest in computers... so it sounded like wishful thinking to a kid.

	9:35pm egould: Hey Rich don’t get hung up on externalities. That’s stuff you can’t control. Focus on what you can control; your life, your relationships, this radio show. The other radio show. Bring joy and goodness to those things, and you bring more joy and goodness into the world. But to get caught up in the misery projected in the news media is a waste of life. It’s degrades your soul. I don’t know what purpose it serves, but it’s not to uplift you; or to unify people in peace and understanding. My two cents.
