	♥ 12:43pm G: @Pax: Yesterday I was working the the hotel lobby so my room could be cleaned, and at some point I heard noise, and it was a guy going through the wastebasket right inside the main entrance, looking for anything worthwhile, and throwing the discards back in the trash. The front desk woman came over and asked him to step outside with her, then she talked to him for a few seconds, and he left. She didn't act upset, just very matter of fact; it probably happens all the time, and she has her system worked out pretty well. We also were driving down a main street Monday evening, and passed a totally nude middleaged woman by an encampment of tents etc. cavorting in the parking lane. Etc.

	1:33pm Pax: G@12:43 - that sounds a lot like the atypical stories I've been hearing about. In fact that sounds tame by some of the more crazier incidents that have been going on there. Not to mention businesses have been suffering sale's loss due to lack of customers. I'm not coming down on the homeless you understand. But speaking in a way as you put it - in a matter of fact. Hell, I never know if and when I'll just might be joining their ranks.

	♥ 1:34pm prof.fuzz: Saw REM at a small punk bar in Houston in 1981 or 82, and again at Astroworld in 85 (Fables tour). Both great shows. Interesting watching the band move from owning a small stage to owning a large one in the space of just a few years.

Gina and I were sitting on her porch (right by the Industrial Canal) and some dude or dudes just went off shooting a semiautomatic weapon on the roof of the abandoned naval station. Maybe a 100 rounds. They sent in the SWAT team. Sounds like no one was hurt. We went inside though.

The front desk woman came over and asked him to step outside with her, then she talked to him for a few seconds, and he left. She didn't act upset, just very matter of fact; it probably happens all the time, and she has her system worked out pretty well. We also were driving down a main street Monday evening, and passed a totally nude middleaged woman by an encampment of tents etc. cavorting in the parking lane. Etc.

Not to mention businesses have been suffering sale's loss due to lack of customers. I'm not coming down on the homeless you understand. But speaking in a way as you put it - in a matter of fact.
