Whenever I hear that Blank Generation (Stray Cat Strut & others) beat, it takes me back to the late 70's when I worked with a trio from Rosendale,NY called The Reverend Lyon Wayne, Pops & The Holy Ghost. Pops was a 79 years young drummer who played with Ellington way back when & he used to step up to the mike & sing "One Meatball" (same shuffle beat) from the 30's or maybe before). What a cool cat. Had his original maple set with real skins, no mylar for him. Played with brushes.

Always loved Bolan, simply & reflexively
...also long intrigued especially by how unimpeachably compelling he is - & very consistently so until maybe quite late for him. But it's a little challenging to just articulate why that is ! (I'm sure the Pros have applied themselves... But I'm largely uninformed of it.) Since he's credited as the original Glam Artist (for one thing) - I'd like to do that for myself in terms of the Substance of the Style...

Handy Haversack:

We'll be regrettably out of town the date of that free Sadies show. Crap damn it!

Cooh John, I'll call you next time I stand up, but we're leaving here at 6:30 so should be at TV Eye by 7:15. I'll give you K8's number so we can find each other. We'll probably grab a bite to eat when we get there.

Re Orville Peck...on the basis of hearing him a few times on this show, I picked up a couple of TKTS to his local fairground show late Jul...with fave opener...Perfume Genius...and bonus...Pride weekend event...so the rides and good energy are bound to carry on...plus...who doesn't like mini-donuts!?!

Guaranteed...like most kids in the mid 70s...would have been intro'd to Marc Bolan via Midnight Special show and Kirshners show...heh...when one is too young to get into clubs...and pre video days...let alone the "interwebs"...what else was on the cards?
