Definitely think Future Games is the best Mac album. Though the recent reissue only has a few bonus trax: Stone (by Bob Welch), etc. At least the 69-74 box is cheap nowadays, though you don't NEED Penguin!

Boy, did the late rock critic, Lester Bangs of CREEM magazine, hate the music of Phil Ochs! I don't think this is his greatest work, but he is an acquired taste. "Pleasures of the Harbor" was a fine album. Some of his anti-war songs were quite pointed.

This 'Greatest Hits' album IS amongst his best, and like Pleasures of the Harbor was pointing a way forward for him, creatively, the 60s counter-culture dream of peace and fairness fading...really unfortunate that he did not make it. Lester Bangs wrote about rock, so his interests were elsewhere
