	🎸 ♥ 6:13pm Austin Rich: This is a sort of obscure profession, and you can tell that the writer of this episode really wanted to show their work. I suspect in 1949, there probably weren't a lot of public awareness of what this kind of job was like. I have to commend the writer for laying out the story and the clues in a way that works really well for me.

And his adventures through Box 13 have probably kept him in shape. I think Dan could probably hold his own with the Sandhogs, though would probably be pretty tried at the end of each day, as it's not something he's familiar with.

	🎸 ♥ 6:44pm Austin Rich: A lot of times, "The Voyage of The Scarlett Queen," can take on the quality of a "noir set at sea." Many of the stories mimic a lot of typical detective of noir type set-ups. But I feel like this one does have the vibe of a sea-adventure more than a "noir" tale. I'm not sure anyone explicitly says that this show is a noir, but it does use the, "everyman in a strange situation," sort of format often. (A noir trope, for sure.)

Some local stations would re-run the old transcription discs whenever, but this one was re-mounted from the same old script. (To my ear and memory, I'm sure it's slightly different... but I'm not exactly sure what is different about it.)
	🎸 ♥ 7:37pm Austin Rich: It would make sense, in the modern day, to just call every station and ask them to re-air the old episode. Except, in those days... not every station kept the transcription discs after they aired the show. (Some went straight to the bin.) So if they wanted an specific story to be re-aired, they would have to act out a new version.
	🎸 ♥ 7:38pm Austin Rich: Some might say: why not just send out new copies of the old episode? Well, they already did... they only made enough to ship out, and no more. (And, in some cases, the people who made the show wouldn't keep old show recordings just to make new copies for syndication purposes.) So it was easier to make a new one, than to try to copy an old one.
