Loved this Fripp & Eno since it's release, Classic! Makes perfect since they later worked with Bowie.

Toyah does theatre stuff. maybe she's good at that. but she wont be in the books as having an impact on music, and if she's more well-known in the uk it's because she appeals to the younger generations...the masses... the people who don't actually listen to music.

So there are facts, and there are opinions. Toyah is well-known in the UK, which is a fact, and she will probably be remembered there for the things that have made her famous there.
In the US, she's known as Fripp's wife, if she's known at all. He's hardly famous among the general public, himself.

coelacanth∅:
...a history of music would be grossly incomplete without mentioning "progressive rock", regardless of the fairly small fanbase; any mention of prog would be remiss to not mention king crimson.
...whereas, Toyah, whether one likes her or not, is just another pop musician. there are countless artists in her "genre" and within that genre she's done nothing above or beyond the standard.
... (this part IS my opinion... or not, maybe) - an 80s pop artist among many, doing standard querky, "edgy", predictable pop that wouldn't get much attention without the visual accompaniment.

I grew up without air conditioning, and my wife is from New Orleans, so in a normal year we only run the air conditioner for the hottest 2 or 3 weeks of summer. That's now.
