WLSClark:

Rolf had a 1963 hit with this cool tune.
  6:24pm
maria collins:

Isn't this a cover of another version ?
Avatar 6:25pm
Erica:

There were actually two versions Rolf recorded, a 1960 version with lyrics mentioning Aboriginal Australians and a 1963 rerecording without the mentioning of the Aboriginals.

Jessie:

Alice Cooper covered Sun Arise on Love It To Death.
  6:26pm
WLSClark:

Erica!! Yes!!
Avatar 6:27pm
Erica:

The 1960 version caused controversy due to it being racist and editing wasn't an advanced method like it is today. So the song had to be redone.
  6:29pm
maria collins:

K. Thx 4 clarification. Ugh !! I have a comment, but I'll keep it to myself.
Avatar 6:30pm
Erica:

The controversy, the song referred to the Aboriginals as Abos, which is an offensive slang term.
Avatar 6:30pm
Erica:

Understood Maria.
