Monks and their Hate Songs were WAY ahead of their time. I think they were just being contrarian. Think about it, Monks with a message of hate??

...Should remember 'KosmicheRawk' is not only more polite but probly better ...worth a try maybe.
WildNeil - I think being G.I.s in Germany during Nam was a lot of that ...to this day, people get mileage out of being AntiBeatles - tho I'm not sure the Monks ever leaned on that pedal that hard @ the time ?? Germany was a real crucible for TheBeatles matter of fact - YaYaYa ?

ChukAmok-interesting theory! The Beatles were actually tough guys from rough neighborhoods I hear (as contrasted to the Rolling Stones)...playing in Germany of all places. Why DID the Beatles play Germany in the first place??
I do NOT like the concept of a guy screaming and rolling on the ground while another guy hits a steel garbage can with an aluminum baseball bat. THAT concept sucks.

- yeah Bas NL no doubt. JulianCope put it in such terms...
I think they all must've been into the Velvet Underground without a doubt. Hell the Stooges' first two albums are fairly Motorik if one cared to be loose about it ...everybody heard everybody is generally a good assumption when it was about being 'Hip' & informed...
