Avatar 6:03am

Good morning, Micah. Thanks for being here today. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08am

Nocturnal, for sure. It's 5AM here in Central Time.
Rob from Maryland:

Good morning Micah and everyone. I'm here for a bit before I venture out to go birding.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 6:16am
Will a Sound Guy:

Good morning Micah and all!!!!
Avatar 6:18am

there, finally sound (the usual issues of having a dodgy wifi connection).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18am

Good morning everyone!
Mr. Oxford:

Good Morning all. Just came back from a walk outdoors during which I saw a hedgehog timidly crossing the street to go from one tree to another. This show is fitting in the aftermath of witnessing that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24am

thought the stout band was the incredible string....need to look them up. morning.
Mr. Oxford:

Lotsa owl music comin' our way I predit
Mr. Oxford:

*I predict
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am

like this one, despite the mrs. miller-like caterwauling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am

Micah! What an excellent surprise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38am

70s production sounds so lush and cheesy and good.
Avatar 6:58am

I feel like I'm on a game show
Avatar 6:58am

On public access

wow what a wacky keyboard workout!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am

zalman is cool - probably got a lot of tail.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 7:09am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi! Hudson River Fish Count is today: www.dec.ny.gov...
LiXiviated Life:

Waking up this morning to…
What is this exactly?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16am

it's music of animal control.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17am

thank you dale!
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 7:18am

hi micah - g'mornin all
LiXiviated Life:

I see
. ..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20am

i wonder if butterflies are nocturnal. arcesia's butterfly mind would be horribly perfect.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 7:21am

dale i think some moths are nocturnal but i might be making that up
Avatar 7:21am

Good morning Amanda and Jim the Poet, animalistas.

i found some good stuff inside old clocks before
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22am

i know the moths that get zapped at the yellow light on the corner of the tasty freeze are nocturnal. or were nocturnal.
Avatar 7:22am

Oh, it's Micah!
Avatar 7:23am

Anyone ever found a secret room in their house?
LiXiviated Life:

Now I’m wondering if some moths are
maternal ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25am

Hyperdose, like a house of leaves thing where it keeps growing?:
LiXiviated Life:

In dreams

i found a secret room in a soho basement before when i lived on the 6th floor
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 7:26am

Hey HD I have friends in caldwell who removed a wall in their basement last year and there was a cache of old rifles there - some where antiques - all in working condition. they made 20 grande selling them to collectors

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31am

GoOod morning from Central Park!

His name is NOT pronounced “Cock-burn”!

Co burn, not cock burn
LiXiviated Life:

It’s a warped cassette

-it’s pronounced like James Coburn the actor
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34am

P-90. call my lawyer Saul Goodman. if you wanna sue me for bad pronunciation
LiXiviated Life:

So it’s
Bruce JamesCoburn
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35am

p-90 - why did they spell it cock burn on the birth certificate then?

Remember Bruce is from Canada and you know how dangerous they can be when crossed. Better call Saul and warn him.
The Butterman:

Morning Micah, no animal sacrifice or goat worship sex cult music this morning? No? Too bad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40am

actually from now on im gonna pronounce it Cawk-burn. like oh my gawd my cawk is on fi-yuh
Avatar 7:40am

@Alan Love stories like that. Would have been cool to see the rifles go to a local museum, but 20 grand is nothing to sneeze at. I'd take the cash too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am

pretty sure there's no rifle museum in caldwell.

It’s a name of Scottish origin originally referencing either overcooked roosters or symptoms of syphilis. Or both.
The Butterman:

Hyperdose, The Gun Museum where we celebrate one of human beings greatest inventions. Tickets to the special show on the assault rifle are NOT included with your admission and require timed entry ticket. First one hundred visitors get a bone or shrapnel fragment.
Oh you just meant a local history type museum. Sorry.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 7:47am
dave wuz here:

lucky me , i've got a kinky jew
Avatar 7:48am

Wish I knew what an "assault" rifle was. Walked in to a gun store, asked for one, and they said there was no such thing. *scratches head*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48am

wow, haven't heard the Kinkajou song in ages. Sure doesn't sound like Bob from Sesame St. though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50am
The Spoony:

Good morning to my favorite animals!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51am

Went to an event at an Amish country store in Pa. yesterday. Two of the raffle prizes were guns. (.22s, suitable for keeping varmints out of the garden, I guess)
Avatar 7:54am

The black bear population in PA is massive
The Butterman:

Euphemism Hyperdose. We only sell high quality, high velocity, metal projectile throwing self defense devices that don’t kill people. People kill people. And robots.
My bad. I don’t mean to write about any sensitive issues that will illicit controversy on the board. I was just making a stupid joke about stoopid mass death machines that our world is obsessed with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56am

this is like deep purple. only less deep. but it's still purple.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56am

Good Morning everyone!! Thanks for filling in Micah!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57am

Hunting is necessary for animal population control, but assault rifles are not part of that equation and neither is a god-given right.
The Butterman:

Cue up War Pigs and let’s move on.
Avatar 8:01am

Dano - I've heard that, if we let animal predators come back, and stop shooting them as they do to wolves out West, a more natural cycle will come back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05am

hunting should be allowed for human population control. that was an abc movie of the week too.
The Butterman:

I just saw part of a doc about animals at night that used special cameras. Well, the animals didn’t use the special camera, that woulda been AMAZING. The film makers used the special camera. Anyway, night vision of vampire bats flying and scuttling around on the ground and hopping up into fur seals to suck their neck and back blood- was one of the nastiest thing I’ve seen. Creepy.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 8:07am
dave wuz here:

i once got a lift from pine grove PA to harrisburg from a guy who worked for PA fish and game. he spent the whole ride telling me about hunting accidents he had writen up. a lowlight was two brothers who turkey called to each other and somehow shot each other full of pellets 100 yards from their car.
Avatar 8:08am

Boston Dynamics are the real threat to society. Boycott robots and replace them with nocturnal animals!

This is now momentarily like having Jeffrey back on Saturdays
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 8:08am

Morning everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08am

could very well be true, @TDK. But bias/fears/ignorance of predators' rightful place in the ecosystem continues to work against the natural order. (see: sheep farmers)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11am

P-90 thats a huge compliment I loved Jeffs show
Avatar 8:12am

Yes P-90, Micah, I miss Jeffrey's show. He's doing one up in Montreal now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am
Rick from SC:

Haven’t heard this Passport song in a long time. Sounds great still
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am

Impossible yes, but it’s true
The Butterman:

PaulRobeson, how do you get your dictionary to Central Park? I imagine it’s quite a large dictionary. You carry it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am

@The Butterman: I carry it upstairs with me always

@dale @8:05: also an episode of CSI MIami..you know..A Florida Man ;)

@davewuz: priceless..thin the herd I say
Avatar 8:35am

This has been such a great cleaning soundtrack
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:39am

The Mind is like a Camera (Dictionary) with billions of lenses

The mind is a camera! And the heart is made of glass. love is a foot!
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 8:43am
Handy Haversack:

Good morning from animal central, Micah and all the creatures of the morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43am

Love’s to love & not to hold
It’s been said before but it’s a Never been told!

Getting a bit proggy in here
Avatar 8:44am

Hey Handy. When will y'all be paddling back down river?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45am

The Mind is like a Camera with Literally billions of lenses

@Dano59: as an aside, much of the "hunting" that goes on is "sport" hunting.

I understand protection of livestock (disclosure: I hunted for years in NJ, whitetail deer & I used every part of the animal if I killed one).

As for reports I hear in places in semi rural PA (where I live) about bear problems....it's human problems not bears.

I've lived in the woods for 28 years, had two incidents where a bear got into my garbage.

The first (around 2000-2001)
and one a few weeks ago.
Both my fault.

I rinse ALL of my trash & recyclables that could attract bears & other scavengers.

The one incident recently was when I forgot to rinse some shrimp shells before discarding them.

Humans are lazy and in many cases absolute pigs when it comes to trash & will always blame the animals who are only trying to survive in a world that we are rapidly destroying.

you couldn’t be more right about it never been told. One day though, one day. In the meantime, Happy Saturday! Time for some snacks.

i never knew these bad animals could be so funky!
Avatar 8:49am

Thanks DJ "animal shaman" Micah.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 8:51am
Handy Haversack:

Ken, oddly, I have never heard of one around here. Bear, sure. Even what was either the largest, tailyest bobcat ever or a mountain lion. But I have never heard of a wolverine nearby. Probably all on the UP now. Or at the Ann Arbor Whole Foods.

HyperDose, we're back Wed. the tenth.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 8:52am
Ken From Hyde Park:

I understand they're pretty elusive, yes.
Avatar 😼 Swag For Life Member 8:55am

Thanks, Micah! Glad to catch the end!

Later on, animalia and others.
Avatar 8:57am

Right in time for the meetup. Nice!
Thanks Micah 🐻
