Paper Kosmonaut:
Great opener! Loved The Dizzy Man's Band when I was a toddler. The Esther Groenenberg track is very nice, maybe even a little beatlesque.. Alexander Curly still is a strange duck in the bite in the Dutch pop music with his choice of lyrics and musical styles. Strange but very enjoyable. KECKS! I prefer the Linda Ronstadt version over the Rita Hovink version. Maar dat ben ik dan weer. Further, I still like to give the Fouryos a kick in the butt. Frisch-geboende neptienerts! Oh, Bojoura! The Q65 version is chillingly good. Honky sax, snarly singer. What would have become of Elly Nieman if she would have chosen Jop instead of Rikkert? Fay Lovsky 's rubber ball sounds quite Lenny Kravitz meets Aimee Mann-esque there. Love Fay! I have once met the Fatal Flowers when I was working in rock club Vera in Groningen in the 90's. I found they were a bunch of lifted-over-the horse arrogant assholes with kapsones. Their roadies too. But hey, that is me - again. The verses in the Kendall song are shamelessly plagiarized from the Beatles' If I Needed Someone. Another Fay Lovsky song! What a treat! (-: Dutch Grease is just calvinist pig fat. But I don't like musicals. But that might just be me. I agree with Domenic's words at 1:54.
Thanks Jan, for a very entertaining two hours albeit one day later!
