Eyal Maoz, familiar name, think I'm confusing him with some Iaraeli blues-jazz guitarist with a similar name.

I've wrecked or burned out many cars, the first being a 1959 Metropolitan.
🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:20pm
WR:

A Nash Metropolitan? 1959? Such an odd but quaintly lovely little car (I've only seen photos). What were your years of ownership of it?
  6:21pm
Hank:

Cool daddeo !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm
doctorjazz:

My first car was a Datsun 1200 (before they changed the name to Nissan-someone originally thought Datsun was more American sounding). It was incredibly light and in a box shape. I managed to turn it over on a curve on the FDR drive. It landed upside down, but was so light that me, my dad and a friend pushed it back upright and I drove it off the FDR (but we had to crouch, as the roof was a few inches lower). It ran OK, as long as you didn't to up too steep a hill, then you might need to push a bit...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:29pm
david w:

Often mistaken as a Nash, The Metropolitan was American Motors made in England. I drove it in the mid-70s (I actually had three, for parts). I also had a Datsun hatchback early 80s, which got stolen and burned to a crisp by joyriders.

This Rózmann is probably better on headphones.
🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:51pm
WR:

OK, got my headphones on now. Definitely some stereo bouncing but didn't increase my interest.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm
doctorjazz:

My Datsun 1200 was parked on a corner-someone hit it when it was parked overnight, and squashed the rear end of it like an accordion, ending it's short but difficult life.

My (poor sick COVID stricken younger) daughter, wearing her WFMU fleece (which used to be mine), looked over at me as the Rozmann was playing, and said, "what the fuck is that?" Success!!!!
