Considering that NYS has huge orchards full of heritage varieties of apples/"genetic diversity" orchards (Cornell had one that was a few hundred acres) and that apples are one of the few fruits that are subsidized and very attractive for SNAP/WIC recipients (as low as 99c/5lb bags of certain varieties, plus a 30% "SNAP/WIC picks" bonus) this is actually a pretty big deal. Cheap apples are sometimes the only fruit easily and cheaply available.

Sounds like you have quite a party going on at your place between infrastructure issues to your own dwelling, and unwelcome squatters. FWIW the smoke should work on the wasps to an extent. You DO have to get wasps out of a regular spot though. My stepdad once made the mistake of thinking that he was clearing out "last year's nest" from the heart of a very tangled piece of shrubbery that he was trimming sans gloves. Luckily it was during Summer break and Mom was home and was able to drive him to the ER before his throat totally swelled shut, and he was OK a few days later.

	11:17am A Worthless Loser: A cost-efficient way to get rid of the insects is to vacuum the nymphs up and dispose of them. Dish soap brands like Dawn works to kill lanternflies. Combine 1/4 cup liquid soap to a quart of water and a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a spray bottle. The soapy water will suffocate the bugs.

Considering that NYS has huge orchards full of heritage varieties of apples/"genetic diversity" orchards (Cornell had one that was a few hundred acres) and that apples are one of the few fruits that are subsidized and very attractive for SNAP/WIC recipients (as low as 99c/5lb bags of certain varieties, plus a 30% "SNAP/WIC picks" bonus) this is actually a pretty big deal. Cheap apples are sometimes the only fruit easily and cheaply available.

Sounds like you have quite a party going on at your place between infrastructure issues to your own dwelling, and unwelcome squatters. FWIW the smoke should work on the wasps to an extent. You DO have to get wasps out of a regular spot though. My stepdad once made the mistake of thinking that he was clearing out "last year's nest" from the heart of a very tangled piece of shrubbery that he was trimming sans gloves. Luckily it was during Summer break and Mom was home and was able to drive him to the ER before his throat totally swelled shut, and he was OK a few days later.

	11:17am A Worthless Loser: A cost-efficient way to get rid of the insects is to vacuum the nymphs up and dispose of them. Dish soap brands like Dawn works to kill lanternflies. Combine 1/4 cup liquid soap to a quart of water and a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a spray bottle. The soapy water will suffocate the bugs.
