Hey there, Derek and Dusters! Looking forward to the show. Going to have it on while cooking so just clicky-star everything for me, OK?

Webhamster Henry:

Hi Derek! This show is a reality check.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm

Hi derek and dusters!

@Handy (and others) -- you can clicky-star a show ... even a DJ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm
Handy Haversack:

Oh, I am aware. I have clicky-starred 'em all in my day.

Howdy folks 🙂

There are random ones in the mix that will cause your house to be subject to a drone strike when clicked however. But they are all in the previous playlist and belong to eBay
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm
ultradamno:

(the drones, that is)

Oh wow, I've clearly missed a lot in my time away. I don't know when this High Lonesome Radio thing started on Mondays, but I'm glad for it (and it takes the sting out of losing ARB in this slot a while back).

Niall:

Well, it's Tuesday for me, but anyway.

Hi Derek, I really enjoyed last week's show! I didn't know 9 year olds could sing.

Wendy del Formaggio:

I like this show, Derek. I also like where it is on the schedule. Usually, I cook while listening to Mark, then eat my dinner while listening to Dust on the Decks. That's a nice routine!
Avatar 7:10pm
derekpiotr:

that seems like a good routine to me, too.

this is the pre-kingston tom dula that was part of local oral tradition in eastern TN/western NC before the revival monsters got ahold of it

Ken From Hyde Park:

Ironic or a happy coincidence that Surface Noise and Dust on the Decks air on the same day.

Listener Robert:

I couldn't help hearing it as, "Who killed Laura Palmer?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm
ultradamno:

If Tom made that joke, he totally did it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm

A man capable of that level of dad joke at that moment is capable of anything

Possibly related to this show, but I just found a professor of mine, Art Rosenbaum just passed. He was pretty active as a field recorder. pitchfork.com...

Very cool! Their vinyl vault was unsurpassed when I was a Ferrum College student.
So weird, I actually sang At My Window for the Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines
a couple years later in Peace Corps... it got me nowhere, but that guy wanted to learn every verse.
One never knows!

JetBoy now of Astoria:

I was trying to think of an appropriate comment, I think the best is that this is a very powerful show. Very personal songs.

Interesting.
The other KY politician well known for playing folk music was Bill Cornett. He went out in style. I like to think they don't make them like this guy anymore:
