I have two boys, brothers, from the same litter. They are both black and white; one looks twice as big as the other, due to fluff, and the other is sleek and black, like a panther.

They are Oryx and Crake. And I LOVE to talk about them too much.

We used to have Feyde, another floofy black and white. But she made it 17 years, and we could see it coming. So we got the boys, and they all got to have a year together. Now it's just us and the boys, and it's been a year since we lost Feyde.

I've been working on Marla to convince her we need a dog. (Fingers crossed.) Maybe for Christmas.

Yeah, NYC is pretty awful to deal with in a lot of ways. The quality of life is pretty abysmal unless you are super wealthy. But there is a lot to be said for being able to downstairs and buy a can of Diet Coke at 11pm just because you can.

Yeah. Salem closes up and 8 PM. I found some late-night tacos one or twice, but it's a drive. The town has sort of surrendered to the idea that night life happens elsewhere.

We are the state capital, and have a lot of red folks that live here, so... not sure I wanna know what they think passes for entertainment.
