It was quite an innovation at the time, calling your band something like "Yes", 'cos all of the Sixties groups anyone had heard of were called The <something> or <somebody> & The <somethings>. When I was a teenage fan I remember reading archival reviews from their early days where the music press insisted on calling them "The Yes".
