	12:18pm dan: I've been officially published in the latest book: "Lend Me In Your Ears" about fans of Jethro Tull written by Richard Houghton. Here's my entry: "I only saw Jethro Tull one time in my life and it was August 9th 2008 at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island, NY. Peter Frampton was the opener. Because it was the group’s 40th anniversary, the setlist focused on the early years, the first 4 albums in particular. While he had trouble hitting some of the high notes, Ian Anderson’s flute and guitar playing were still top of the line. For this show, the usual quintet was turned into a nonet with the inclusion of a string quartet that turned the usual rock and roll ambiance of Jones Beach into Carnegie Hall. Especially when they did “Bouree”, as if the ghost of JS Bach was conducting from backstage. Other highlights included Doane Perry’s drum solo on “Dharma For One”, the cocktail jazz of “Serenade To A Cuckoo”, Ian belting out the harmonica on “Song For Jeffrey” and “A New Day Yesterday” Martin Barre’s electrifying guitar solo on “Aqualung” and an instrumental version of the rarely performed “Sossity: You’re A Woman”. In all, Jethro Tull gave it all they got on a beautiful summer night overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with the aroma of salt water mixing with the sounds of good ol’ rock and roll music."

	12:23pm dan: It will probably be the only time I see Jethro Tull what with Martin Barre not being in the lineup these days. Some people will argue that all you need is Ian Anderson, but Martin Barre's guitar playing is such a huge part of the music itself.

It was a great show and I remember being struck by how interesting the crowd was - dressed up people, punk kids, etc. We were in Hawaii with friends a couple of years ago and they left early to see Tull do one of their albums in LA. Tough choice.

A local guy loaned Jerry Lee his prized Steinway for the show. BAD IDEA. Jerry Lee did two solid hours and tore the place up. At the end of the night he practically reduced that piano to a pile of wood, wire and ivory. If you need ONE JLLewis album, get "Live at the Star Club." It's like a 45 minute amphetamine seizure.

	12:18pm dan: I've been officially published in the latest book: "Lend Me In Your Ears" about fans of Jethro Tull written by Richard Houghton. Here's my entry: "I only saw Jethro Tull one time in my life and it was August 9th 2008 at Jones Beach Amphitheater in Long Island, NY. Peter Frampton was the opener. Because it was the group’s 40th anniversary, the setlist focused on the early years, the first 4 albums in particular. While he had trouble hitting some of the high notes, Ian Anderson’s flute and guitar playing were still top of the line. For this show, the usual quintet was turned into a nonet with the inclusion of a string quartet that turned the usual rock and roll ambiance of Jones Beach into Carnegie Hall. Especially when they did “Bouree”, as if the ghost of JS Bach was conducting from backstage. Other highlights included Doane Perry’s drum solo on “Dharma For One”, the cocktail jazz of “Serenade To A Cuckoo”, Ian belting out the harmonica on “Song For Jeffrey” and “A New Day Yesterday” Martin Barre’s electrifying guitar solo on “Aqualung” and an instrumental version of the rarely performed “Sossity: You’re A Woman”. In all, Jethro Tull gave it all they got on a beautiful summer night overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with the aroma of salt water mixing with the sounds of good ol’ rock and roll music."
