Born and raised in South Carolina, studied in North Carolina and Indiana, did a post-doc in Switzerland, then moved to Germany and was there for 24 years except for 15 months in Japan (sent by my employer Hoechst, Hekisuto in Japanese) and 2 years in Ireland with a start-up company. Came to Finland to return to the ivory tower of academia in August 2010. It was easy because I became a German citizen in 2007 so had an automatic right to live and work here.

Born and raised in South Carolina, studied in North Carolina and Indiana, did a post-doc in Switzerland, then moved to Germany and was there for 24 years except for 15 months in Japan (sent by my employer Hoechst, Hekisuto in Japanese) and 2 years in Ireland with a start-up company. Came to Finland to return to the ivory tower of academia in August 2010. It was easy because I became a German citizen in 2007 so had an automatic right to live and work here.
