@drr: No such thing. All folk songs date back to challenging medieval times or earlier, and are repressions of the subconscious as relates to pain, survival and death. Any folk song with innocuous lyrics was MADE innocuous (in a process known by some as "Ivesing").

I always disliked the whole "ironic hipster" thing, especially when being ernest is so much harder to actually do and worth much more admiration. It would REALLY bother me if somebody listened to Johnny Cash or Merl Haggard ironically as they do not deserve to be treated to such abuse.
Vero's use of the high bass string (is that what it was?) sure sounds like the 80's to me like the Cure.

Eva Cassidy sang that too - one of her posthumous albums was titled Songbird, because of course she was. But then I realized she sang that Christine McVie song, and it was named for that. A wonderful song for both of them.

Teresa Brewer’s records & stuff had been placed in a storage unit near Catskill when she went into a skilled nursing facility.

2021 the storage unit was acquired by an auction house in Saugerties. This is where I purchased Teresa Brewer and Bob Thiele’s home photographs, records and piano rolls.

I want to donate the music stuff to the station. Also would like to find Bob Jr. and give him his baby photos
