When I opened the message I supposedly sent it just says to read it I have to download the most recent version of Instagram. I haven't figured how to do that either.

	3:48pm Debbie Davenport: I'm glad he plays it for us anyway. That was one thing I didn't like about being a dj. Listeners wanting to hear songs I didn't like. IN the 80's people wanted to hear "Punk Rock Girl" by the dead milkmen all the time. Then I thought I had escaped that request in the 90's at a different station in a different state. Nope. I got requests for that eery fucking show for years! I finally lied and said it wasn't at the station anymore.

	3:52pm Debbie Davenport: Kittimu, my friends and I would request this Sweet song from the roller rink djs. That is totally my timing when it came out.
	3:53pm Debbie Davenport: I hate that about commercial stations.
	3:53pm Skinny Robbie: I worked at a classic rock station in Cali...and I regularly played the Dead Milkmen just to buck the system, lol. Ironic.
	3:53pm Aitch: Sweet was huge in primary school, also here in OZ ABBA and AC/DC. Hush and Supernaut were a couple of local glam bands, Skyhooks too to some extent.

	3:55pm Kittimu: My local classic rock stations suck. Whenever they play a david bowie song it's always Fame or Space Oddity. Mostly Fame. I didn't hear Suffragette City until, um, coming up on three years ago, early 2020, they were playing it cause it was his deathday, and I was like "wait, this guy's GOOD?" Don't ask how I got from just getting into Bowie to being here so fast. I'm a very efficient person.

	3:57pm Debbie Davenport: I remember picking out rick rack for an outfit my mom was making me. I thought it made me look tough like suzi. A simple fabric store notion made me feel bad ass and ready to chase and tackle the boys. Kids are so funny!

	3:58pm Kittimu: I only listen to the radio when I'm in the car lol
	3:59pm Aitch: Funny how Colorado is more socially remote than Oz, but I have been to the USA a few times so I get it.
	3:59pm Skinny Robbie: In my parts, our stations are modern pop / hip hop, country, classic rock. Only in car listening. Often, it's so bad, I choose silence.
	3:59pm Kittimu: It's pretty boring around here unless you drive up to a big city, but that's how all places are
	4:01pm Kittimu: Dang Robbie, I hope you've invested in some CDs/cassettes/digital music (I don't know how old or new your car is so I'm trying to cover all the bases)
	4:02pm Skinny Robbie: I have a CD player in car, but have overplayed everything to death. I actually buy stuff like Jack Jones to mix things up.

	4:03pm Debbie Davenport: Kittimu, we all have different places and timings. I wasd afraid of David Bowie when I was like 6 because he was doing the ziggy stardust look and I was confused and thinking he worked for Satan. it's a long story I won't get into beyond that. Then as a teenager I had a boyfirnd who whipped out his acoustic guitar and sang to me every song on ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars album. so got more familiar before college where everyone who was cool was into him. Don't ever feel lesser than someone else over when and where you learn things. I learned about punk when I was isolated in a forest. I will fucking fight any jerk who thinks I don't deserve to be part of that because I wasn't in their place at their time. They can "go die" as folks used to say.
	4:04pm Kittimu: Cheree, the stations aren't the worst, but some of them definitely aren't great. At least there's a few of them so I can switch back and forth sometimes.

	4:10pm Aitch: Best thing about WFMU is there are folks that have devoted their lives to some sort of music and actually curate it for us. The more you hear the less you know in this place. Drummer stream you're lucky if you've ever even heard of the artist let alone the track they're playing, but because they picked it it'll be a good one anyway.

Reading your previous comment: I was the perfect age for that first wave if Ramones/Sex Pistols punk—about 12. It seemed so silly and juvenile—you know, for kids. We wouldn’t tell other kids at school we liked it tho. That was Aerosmith Country. A favorite pasttime out here is for men to relive their glory days when they were “the only punk rocker at the school.” First, no you weren’t, bc I’ve heard that story so many times you kids would have been the majority. They go on about how how they were prescient pariahs. They make a trip to the cafeteria sound like D Day or something.

Well, does that mean you do not want us to buy your zine or see the bands or buy the band merch? ONly for people who participated in the 70s then why are you telling us 80s kids to stay away. I don't want to argue that my timing was 1979, and I"m from California, etc. It's flawed. A flawed argument and they might as well seal themselves up in a time capsule somewhere if they are that rigid. One dork keeps sending me facebook friend requests and then says are you even from Los Angeles. what an asshole! I keep blocking him then he sends me another request on a new account. He is the one contacting me. to tell me I don't deserve to like punk? so sillyl (I saw him in here once too)

The ethos of this very mag seemed to be anyone can pick up a cheap guitar, learn three chords and be a “band.” But they were snobs. Maybe not everyone there. They did have a legendary writer who sang the praises of BG.

I got requests for that eery fucking show for years! I finally lied and said it wasn't at the station anymore.

Don't ask how I got from just getting into Bowie to being here so fast. I'm a very efficient person.

I wasd afraid of David Bowie when I was like 6 because he was doing the ziggy stardust look and I was confused and thinking he worked for Satan. it's a long story I won't get into beyond that. Then as a teenager I had a boyfirnd who whipped out his acoustic guitar and sang to me every song on ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars album. so got more familiar before college where everyone who was cool was into him. Don't ever feel lesser than someone else over when and where you learn things. I learned about punk when I was isolated in a forest. I will fucking fight any jerk who thinks I don't deserve to be part of that because I wasn't in their place at their time. They can "go die" as folks used to say.
